Asha is supposed to only last a couple of years, it’s CZ. No CZ is going to look good after 9 years. OP, many girls on the Bee have and love their Asha CZ’s. Do a search and you’ll see lots of threads on them.

that’s my main issue with asha’s – that they dont last.

otherwise i’d be all over them, because they really are beautiful and more diamond-like than moissanites.

Ashas and Quorri are CZs, no CZ you buy is going to last more than a couple of years with daily wear. But the OP wasn’t asking if she should not buy a CZ, she was asking which is better. Personally I think Asha is the better choice. To say they don’t last because one was showing wear after 9 years isn’t proving much of anything, that’s going to happen to any brand of CZ you buy.

well, Asha’s are said to be harder than CZ because of amorphous diamond coating on them. I just wanted to point out that they still aren’t that durable.

@lilsweetie:  I know about Ashas, what I don’t understand is why you’re saying they are not durable because one showed signs of wear after 9 years. That’s not something that only happens to Asha CZs, if anything they last longer than standard non coated ones. So I’ll say it yet again, no CZ you buy is going to last longer than a few years with daily wear. They are not a forever stone. It doesn’t matter if you’re buying Asha, Wink, Quorri, or the stuff at Macy’s.

Just want to chime in that the amorphous diamond coating is there for optical properties; it’s much too thin to give really any sort of “diamond-like” strength boost.

@durian123:  Yay!!! So happy for you!! I’ve been itching to see a Quorri ring, they look stunning on the site. Can’t wait to see pics of your beauty, if you’d like to share with the hive!

When we looked at the jeweler, I felt like the Asha we saw was beautiful and looked the closest to a diamond. However, I’d personally never choose an asha for my e ring. Because it’s a coated CZ its not as durable as other simulants.

I do see you made your choice! How exciting! Pics?

@ImAllHis921:  Thats funny because when I go to the Quorri website they don’t actually list what it is, just that its made of “Zirconium dioxide” and that it’s got a carbon coating which is just a shifty way of saying it’s a coated cz.

So they’re very similar products, but while I’ve heard of asha I’ve never heard of Quorri.
