- Wedding: June 2013
I went looking for wedding bands there this morning. Aside from the fact that they had a small selection, I could NOT believe what happened.
The 2 men helping me looked at my E ring (which is over 1 carat) and said they can probably fit a 2 carat diamond in there. I said I’m happy with mine. They continued to tell me that in time, my ring will look small to me and I will want to upgrade. And they told me they know it’s my “first” diamond, so when I upgrade, they take my diamond and put it on a necklace to put it closer to my heart. Yes, they said it as cheesily as it sounds here. I told them I am not ever going to upgrade my ring. This is my ring and I’m very happy with it – and I’m not the type to upgrade. They said in 15 years when I’m upgrading, I’ll remember this conversation.
They also made some comment about how wonderful their rings are because if I lose weight, they don’t charge to resize. FYI – I’m 108 lbs. I looked down at myself after the losing weight comment and the guy had the nerve to say that I didn’t have “a lot” to lose. Apparently they like the so skinny you look like you’re gonna die look… I can’t get much skinnier!!!
Awful, awful people. I put in a call to their district manager and waiting to hear back. She should know her employees are insulting people’s cherished engagement rings and making comments about their customer’s weight.
i will never ever ever spend a cent in their store, I don’t care how many times they’d resize my ring for free!
Whoo… glad I got that out. 🙂
