I don’t live in Asheville, but my husband and I were married there. I can’t speak to the club scene-it just wasn’t ever my thing.

If you choose to do a spa day I can highly recommend Suraj Spa. I had a mani/pedi, my makeup and my hair done there and the ladies did a great job! I know they also offer other spa services that I wish I could have taken advantage of. I’ve also done the winery and wine tasting tour at Biltmore and I enjoyed it. As far as food, my hubby and I have been to Jack of the Wood-which is an Irish pub with good beer/food and has trivia nights. I’d also recommend Tupelo Honey Cafe and Carmel’s for food. I’ve heard good things about Santé Wine Bar, but we didn’t get a chance to try it while we were there.

Oh, and if you like chocolate a visit to the French Broad Chocolate Lounge and/or The Chocolate Fetish would be recommended!

French Broad Chocolates is amazing. You’ll get drunk on chocolate just breathing the air.

Asheville is a mostly pubby place, but you’ll find an occasional cocktail place. (But imagine Portland or Seattle dropped into the Blue Ridge, and you’ve got Asheville).

The LAB (Lexington Avenue Brewery) is a terrific gastropub. The Thirsty Monk has the best beer selection I’ve seen just about anywhere.

The Biltmore winery has a wonderful tasting room – you can spend a really long time in there, just trying everything!

I LOVE Asheville, and I’d live there if I could. Hope you have a great time!

You could definitely have a great bachelorette weekend there! There are plenty of nice restaurants and plenty of great places to get cocktails! I got engaged there and we had an amazing 4 night stay afterwards. You can walk forever there, and you keep finding new little hide outs. If you do go, one cool place that we really liked was the Sky Bar. It’s kind of hidden away, but it’s basically a bar on a fire escape (I know, sounds weird), but seriously, it has AMAZING views of the mountains. =)

Also, the best spa, by far is the Grove Park Inn. http://www.groveparkinn.com  It’s not cheap, but you will NOT be disappointed!

My favorite restaurants: Zambra (tapas), Bouchon (french) & Table

And actually Zambra has a great bar scene, so that may fit the bill for your cocktails!

Anyway, let me know if you need more suggestions!

@Zusie:  French Broad Chocolate it is then! The hot chocolate there is different than what I’ve had anywhere else. It’s like drinking a liquid chocolate bar. The thickness was a little weird at first, but then it became addicting.

At the Biltmore wine tasting they will let you sample as many wines as you want and don’t limit you on time. I really liked the sangiovese they had.

@ProfessorGirl:  If I could live in or near Asheville I would too! 🙂

If you haven’t had it yet, you HAVE to go to Sky Bar!  It’s a bar up on a 3 story fire escape and has freaking amazing sunset views (so obviously go there around 8:30 so you can catch it).  It’s in the flat iron building where Chai Panni and World Coffee are.  Message me if you want more info, I live in Asheville! 🙂

I second Grove Park Inn’s spa.  It is AMAZINGGGGG.  They have an indoor/outdoor grotto, heated pools, whirlpools, sauna, cold tank…all that you get to use if you have a treatment done there.  It’s beautiful and so worth the expense.

Definitely tour the Biltmore and do the wine tour afterwards.  They are both great, the Biltmore is unbelievabley beautiful and fascinating, especially if you are into history or architecture.  The restaraunt inside the old stables at the Biltmore is extremely cool and delicious as well.  Tupelo Honey Cafe I second as well – if you like pecan pie, theirs will become your new favorite.  I’ve been to Asheville a few times and have yet to discover a place that seemed anything more than a wine room or pub, so you won’t be getting much of the club scene there, just FYI.

I was thinking of doing my bachelorette in Atlanta, now you’ve got me thinking of Asheville, I so love it there…sigh, it’s 12 hours from Orlando though!

I know this is an old post and I hope you had a wonderful bachelorette but if anyone else see’s this I highly recommend Asheville. Either the Grove Park or the Biltmore are great. Also check the schedule at the Orange Peel, they may have a show you don’t want to miss. And btw, I highly recommend http://getamalestripper.com/asheville for your bachelorette entertainment. Just saw them at a friends birthday, oh my! 😀
