I was going to suggest lychee too!

I think a good idea is to go online and go to the websites of some good upscale Asian restaurants and then take a look to see if they have a specialty cocktail menu. That will give you some good inspiration.

I’m asian by the way but for some reason I always see my parents and other asian drink heineken.  That’s what I thought when I read your title.

As for cherry blossom drinks, I googled and found some.

As for that lychee idea, that’ a great idea.  What about doing a lychee flavored drink and add a little red food dye and garnish with lychee? Sounds yummy!

Well, something with cherry liqueur would be nice!

I would also recommend cucumber infused drinks and black tea and vodka drinks. They may not be traditional, but they have those clean tastes I especially associate with Asian food.

If you can splurge a little, you could also get Japanese beer. I think Sapporo and Kirin have a nice, refreshing taste.

What about umeshu? I really wanted it for our wedding but it didn’t work out. It’s sweet plum wine.

@yrret107 I agree that garnishing with a lychee (you can find them fresh or peeled and canned at a lot of Asian grocery stores) is a great touch! I’m guessing you won’t need red food dye though b/c the splash of cranberry juice in most of the recipes should do the trick turning it red/pink. For some reason the pic in the link I posted is yellow, but whenever I’ve had them, they’ve been pinkish red.

I’ve heard ginger martini’s are awesome.

@Juliamei

Well the one I had tried was clear but yeah, just add a splash of cranberry.  That would work, too.

Plum wine! It’s so good!
You can always go to some sushi restaurants and see what they have on their bar lists. Plus, it’s a great excuse for sushi!
