I am looking to create a wedding recepetion menu with american/asian food. How did you incorporate asian dishes into your wedding or did you just end up having just american or just asian? Did you serve family stlye, plated or buffet? I’d love to see some menu ideas if you have any!

Our venue will also be doing the catering for our wedding. I have not gone food tasting yet but we are definitely getting plated because it is much cheaper than a buffet option…like $20 more cheaper per person because apparently they have to prepare more food for a buffet. I saw an Asian entree selection from our brochure and here is the description:
Pan Seared Fire-Cracker Salmon (served with sweet-chili sauce, stir-fried veggies and fragrant Jasmine rice)

Thanks for all of your help! I hope the food testing goes well!

I just had American dishes served buffet style.
In my experience Asian guests are happy as long as there is seafood or steak. If you had a shrimp or crab legs station they would all be over the moon but of course that’s not in the budget for most. For my part I just stayed away from anything is smothered with sauce that the guests can’t instantly tell what it is, like casseroles, and also stayed away from cheese, as we’re not really big on cheese. Focused on things where the main ingredients speak for themselves–I had a prime rib carving station, baked salmon, asparagus wrapped with prosciutto.

If you’re having a cocktail hour, you could have dim sum inspired hors devours!
