What’s your favorite brand of cookware and/or bakeware??  Or if you have different favorite brands for different items, please share 🙂

@kariface:  Thank you!!  Great to know why one brand is better over another!

Oh this is fun! What stand-mixer would you recommend for me?

Some background: I bake breads regularly (baguettes, sandwich loafs, brioche buns, etc) and currently hand knead. I’ll probably want some attachments like meat grinder, and a very good food processor. Day-to-day use will probably be whisking and mixing of sauces and batters, use of the food processor, but with some heavy-duty dough kneading every now and then.

And just out of curiosity, what are your opinions on the lower-end enameled cast iron that’s been flooding the market? Like Lodge’s line, and the Tramontina line at Walmart.

That’s interesting you’re so pro-Staub, I always thought it was fairly well divided between Staub and LC. Thanks for fielding questions!

Have you ever heard of bakeware called the USA Pan?  If so, what do you think of them?  The woman who helped me register at Bed Bath and Beyond recommended it, but I wasn’t sure.  She convinced my FI they were amazing so he insisted we add it to the registry, but I’m still unsure.

Oooh, fun! Thanks for doing this :).

I have Fiesta dishes, and I recently started buying their bakeware. Do you have any thoughts on the bakeware line before I start buying even more of it? Thanks!!!

@AGTbee:  Oooo yes I have the same question! They have very good reviews on Williams-Sonoma and I was maybe interested in the gold/ceramic coated pans but not sure if this is just a gimmick?

I’m looking to invest in one or two all-copper pieces in the future, as a speciality supplement to the cook/bakeware I already own and love. I’ve been thinking about a medium-sized mixing bowl for my meringue, and perhaps a pot or pan for delicate stovetop stuff.

Question(s):

— what style pot/pan should I get that would be the most versatile?

— should I purchase from a chain like WS, or look elsewhere?

— realistically, what should I aim to spend on each item?

Thanks so much for doing this, I’m sure all of us who love to cook/bake will love it!

@kariface:  What do you recommend for a food processor? I’ve never owned one (neither have my parents), but once FI and I do our registry I want to get one – I cook A LOT from scratch. There are so many size options, I just can’t decide!

I am looking for stove top copper pots as well and would love a great suggestion!

My parents bought us a set of beautiful Mauviel copper pans. Is there anything specific I need to know about using them or cleaning them? I did read their website but it wasn’t super specific.
