Ok, the past couple weeks my mind has been filled with all things wedding! I can’t stop thinking about it!! I know I am getting ahead of myself, but since we have already picked the date & venue I feel as though I should be planning – even without a ring. I have a feeling April 23, 2011 will come FAST & this proposal is going to come SLOW & I will be stuck with only a few months of planning.
So here is where I need your help ladies. I have done up 2 inspiration boards for colors that I am interested in. I need some opinions/feedback.
Here is a bit of backround info:
– The wedding is April 23, 2011
– Our reception is going to be held in a rink. So think big open building with cement floors. We are going to be doing LOTS of decorations to make it warm & comfy.
– The groom & his men will not be wearing black tuxes. They will be wearing brown suits/vests etc.
So ladies? What is your opinion?? Good or bad I am ready to hear it all!

I really like the top board with blues, browns, and golds. Very pretty.

They are both awesome! I think that if your men are wearing brown though, the top one would go best. I would have to see the brown with the bottom one, but in my mind, what I’m thinking, it doesn’t go as well.

I like the top board. You described making your venue “warm and comfy” – the top series of colors say that much more.

I like the blues, browns & white board the best. For some reason the lightblue and red combo is a bit jarring to my eyes. Am in love the first board though.

I really like the top board but I maybe biased here as they are almost my wedding colors (blues, ivory/khaki, silver)!!
It depends on what kind of statement you want to make. The top board is more subtle and the colors all blend together. The bottom one is bold and vibrant. The colors pop against one another.

Thanks so much guys! I like hearing others opinions. And sorry for the bad paint job! It’s a slow day at work…..

The blues and the browns are great!!!!!

I agree with @charismaclassic–the top board is definitely warmer and richer. Are there lots of windows in your venue?

I think both boards are very nice and I like both color combinations. But if you’re planning to warm up the venue, I don’t think either of these palettes will do that for you. If warm and comfy isn’t that big of a deal, then I like the first board the best.

I like the top inspiration board since you’ll be in a rink. Those colors are bold!

I like the top board with the browns, it sounds like it will go well with your venue.

I say for your venue and style, the top board.
Personally, I am a huge fan of red and aqua. They’re my colors too!

I agree that the top one goes best with brown suits. I think if you wanted to go for the bottom look, the guys would look better in grey instead of brown. I love both boards though.
I definitely think you should use paper lanterns like in the first board to spice up your rink venue.

I also love the top board, but I am a huge brown/tan fan! And don’t worry about planning too early. I’m an April 2011 bride too and just trying to get as much done as possible. People keep judging me and say that I’m overly excited, but so what! It WILL come fast and why not enjoy it rather than stress about it? Also, I spent about a year looking at wedding ideas before I was engaged, it was the smartest thing I ever did! 🙂 Good luck and happy planning!
