MemberHow soon did you ask your freinds/family to be in your wedding? We were talking about possibly having a Oct 2016 wedding? I’m not asking right now but curious of when would be a good time to let them know.
MemberI asked my sister immediately (the night we got engaged), because it was always a given she would be my maid of honor. I asked the rest of the bridal party about 3 months later, which was just over a year to go until the wedding. I felt more comfortable asking them ahead of time since its all family, obviously those relationships will not change. I would not ask any sooner than a year out for friends and maybe even longer. There really isnt anything the bridesmaid need to do until about 6 months out when they buy their dress. My fiance, on the other hand, hasnt finished asking his party yet. He is in no rush and I’m sick of bugging him about it so who knows how many people he will end up with on his side.
MemberI would say maybe 1 year out. I got engaged and was married a year later so I personally let people know 9 months prior to the wedding and that was more than enough time. But a lot can happen in almost 2 years so I’d maybe hold off a bit.
