(Closed) Asking one of the groomsmen to step down…can the friendship survive?

You could tell him that you decided to each have only two bridal party members and that you jumped the gun in asking him out of excitement.  You would still like him to be apart of your day and be an usser or a reader or something like that.  I don’t think that it would be wise to kick him to the curb, but maybe just to gently nudge him to the peanut gallery would be the nicest thing.

I’m totally on board with TKS. I think giving him a reduced role is a good idea and I like the excitement/jumped the gun idea.

Trust me, I know how it is to have a friend as a roomie and the dynamic changing. I had to kick our friend-turned-roomie out of our house a couple weeks ago and it’s hard not to let the situation reflect in our friendship. You’ll get through it. Guys tend to let stuff roll off their backs better than girls do!
