Unless you plan to tell them the date in the email, (in which case the STD will be redundant) it’s too early for most people to be able to answer.

As soon as they have the save the dates, they will be able to do their planning.

yea asking people if they can come THEN telling them to save the date doesn’t make much sense.  It sucks, I’d love to know right now who all was coming- but sometimes you just gotta be patient!

Even if people were to respond, a lot can change between now and then.  I would tick yes, but if anything with my job, or family, etc, came up I may have to change my answer.  So I don’t think it will really help you plan much.

Something like that won’t be accurate (WAY too early for people to make plans) and it’s kind of rude to ask without a formal invite.

Since your in June I would wait to send the Googleform out too.  With Christmas still to come you can collect alot of addresses through Xmas cards, etc.  And sometimes a simple text works better than anything.

Also, if you ask people to reply earlier than the actual invitation, you may be on the receiving end of a lot of “well I told her I was/wasn’t coming a year ago, I don’t need to RSVP twice!” when it comes to collecting your RSVPs next May.
