I am new to this board, I have been married for 12 years, and gave really nice engagement ring, but decided to get alternative to it. My original ring is 2ct and I felt that there is no need to get another diamond (yet;-). I decided to have a custom ring made from orospot with the new Forever one asscher cut Moissanite. I requested 8mm stone and the setting to be made in platinum with diamond halo in antique style. Do any of you have a ring from them or the new asscher cut moissanite ???
I got this pic from them yesterday of the stone, how does it look to you? I thought it would have been more square …?

an asscher is technically an octagon, because of the cut corners. Once you have prongs on (especially if they’re bigger prongs, double claw prongs, etc..) it’ll look more square. You could even have a square halo, Ritani for example sells an asscher halo that is a square rather than the shape of an asscher. I think the stone looks good, but I think it’s one of those weird angles where it kinda looks glassy. Have u watched videos of it on instagram at all? Most of the time i think they look glittery and pretty but there’s always an angle where it looks this way 🙂 I can’t wait to see what the finished product looks like!! Asscher is my favorite moissanite cut, it looks amazing with the double refraction

I can’t give an example for an entire ring but I ordered the Asscher forever one stone, and mine looked more square. It was, however, the smaller size…6mm.
I didn’t end up keeping it though. My choices were between an Asscher moissanite/amora gem or a cushion cut yellow diamond (I couldn’t find an Asscher with the specs that I liked in my price range). I ended up going with the diamond, but I have to say that I actually like the cut corners of your gem…I would just assume that C&C would cut all of their moissanites uniformly despite size differences?

thank you soontobesaint,
I am having a custom ring made by orospot, as they could supply the stone as well. It will be bezel set halo, antique style ring … I think the pic was taken with a phone and she did say it was beatific in person. I chose orospot as I liked there hand engraving…

thank you marmar88, and thanks for posting the picture as well. Yes I too would think they would look all the same … I am having it set bezel style and gave them inspiration pics from true antique ring and Sebastian Barier. My original ER is from DBL and its fancy yellow light orange 2ct in a hand forged halo. But now I crave the ” white” look for variety… I also have 5 ct eternity band. I will post more pics of the design once I have it.
