assigned tables!

Normally, there will just be assigned tables. However, it all depends on the formality of the wedding and the kind of guests that will be attending. My family is not the type to do well with a seating chart, so I am going to let them seat themselves (it will also save me the hassle) 🙂   I still plan on numbering the tables, in order to speed up food lines, etc.

We almost did neither but at the last minute decided to do assigned tables. It just makes it easier for everyone.

Just tables. Then people can sit by who they choose.

Or you can just have people choose where to sit at the reception too. Just an idea!

Assigned tables! No need to assign seats at the tables though, guests will arrange themselves so save yourself some time and skip it.

Another vote for assigned tables not seats.

We had assigned tables and seats.  It was a plated dinner, and the color of the place card indicated whether or not they were pork, chicken, vegetarian or childrens meal.  Our wedding was also black tie.

Having assigned seating is normally to put ease on some other aspect of the wedding.

Tables!  I’ve never been to one with assigned seats, and I’ve been to tons of different kinds of weddings.  But, it might make sense to assign seats if you had really long tables with lots of people at each one.

We had a buffet so assigned tables was good enough. If you’re serving a player dinner assigned seats are probably the easiest way for serving staff to bring the correct meal.

Assigned seating.  I’ve seen too many times where an elderly person who needed help was seated away from someone who could assist them because there were a couple single person gaps between couples.  Too often not enough thought is given to old and infirm guests.
