- Wedding: May 2010
Ever since I can remember, I’ve wanted to have “At Last” be a part of my wedding someway, somehow. Then, I met the fiance, who could not have more different taste in music than me (I’m a huge pop fan, he’s more jam band/non pop). He loves his music, and is slowly expanding my musica horizons. That’s why, for the main music choices, he’s had a lot of influence. He actually wants to have songs by artists we both like and have listened to together.
For our g-parents/parents entrance we have “High Tide/Low Tide” by Ben Harper & Jack Johnson. For our wedding party entrance we have “Better Together” by Jack Johnson. Then, I decided I MUST have “At Last” by Etta James be the song I walk down the aisle to. However, after listening to all 3 together, it’s not really cohesive. Is that ok? Should I also mention that we’re walking back up the aisle to “I’m a Believer” by the Monkees. Does it matter if all the music is the same if I’ve always wanted this song at my wedding (before I even met my fiance?)? Do you ladies know of any awesome covers of “At Last” that sound more like the other 2 songs?
