Tell when you’re ready! Honestly, appts or not, wait until you’re ready! I am super close with my boss and told him around 10w.

i had two part time jobs, so i could schedule doctor appts around them.  the catch is i literally got pregnant at the same time i started working at these jobs!  So far i told the job that i decided to quit. After being there a month, i decided it was not the place for me at all, so basically i was able to use my pregnancy and the fact that i need to finish my dissertation as the main reason for quitting (although in reality, a bigger reason was that i hated working there).

I haven’t told my other job yet. I am sure they will be fine as i am hired there as an independent contractor, so it’s not like i get benefits or anything and things are going really well at that job so i am confident that they will be fine with me taking the time i need after baby is born and then going back to work there….i think i am just avoiding telling them because of the first thing i said –  i literally got pregnant after my first day on the job!  I think i will tell them in the next week or two and just get it over with.’

For you, i don’t think there is a rush to tell them since you are not that far along. I would probably wait until after your first trimester is done.

I told my boss at my annual review. I just happened to be about 10 weeks along at the time.

I didn’t have to… the guy has 6 kids and figured it out long before I wanted to tell him 😉

I planned on telling him around 12 weeks or so but he figured it out around the 8 week mark or so – I hadn’t even had a Drs appt yet.

I’m holding out until the 14/15/16 week area. I’m almost 12 weeks now. Kind of nervous about telling, even though I have no reason to be! I’ll have had 3 doctor’s appts in a 2 month period, so he probably thinks something is up anyway.

I told my boss when I hit my 12 weeks mark.  I just wanted to wait and be on the safer side.

i want to wait a while to tell my boss. he’s a friend, but Darling Husband and i aren’t sure if we’ll even be in the same location when the baby is due. my due date is in our off season, so i’m sure it won’t be an issue at all. it will be the first time our company has anyone on maternity leave though!

I told my boss at 13 weeks. He figured it out a month or so earlier. Telling him formally meant that I didn’t have to lift boxes anymore. He’s been cool about that as well as appointments. I emailed him a schedule of appointments and will work from home when I interview pediatricians soon. He ended up telling more of my coworkers than me because it became obvious in the past couple of weeks that I’m pregnant. He’s a really cool guy, so I’ll be working from home more throughout the summer when it gets uncomfortable at work.
