This is so embarassing and disgusting. I have athletes foot on my toe. I’ve had it about two weeks and have been actively treating it for several days with a topical spray and two different kinds of cream. It nearly seemed to be gone the end of last week because I was off work and could wear flip flops all day (apparently closed toed shoes you wear without socks are particularly bad, which describes ALL my work shoes. FML). After two days back at work the itching and burning is nearly unbearable.
Should I call off work tomorrow and try to go to the Minute Clinic at CVS or something? I am so embarassed, then read that athletes foot can also create secondary bacteria infections, which is just lovely! I lived in a dorm with community bathrooms for two years but faithfully wore “shower shoes” and never had a problem.
I think the embarrassment of having a fungal infection is making this experience even worse.
any tips or advice greatly appreciated!!
