Now that I have my dress and all my bridesmaids have their dresses I can write this. If you’re an Atlanta bride, please, please, please think twice before buying a dress from Wedding Angels. When you first enter the salon, you’ll be swept away with how “together” they seem. The environment is very “up scale boutique” and the salesteam is great. They’ll have you buying a dress in no time…
Here’s the problem… They NEVER answer their phone so when you want to call to check on stuff, you can’t. They’re RIDICUOUSLY SLOW. It took 9 months for my dress to come in (they told me it would take 6.) The lady talked me into getting length added to my dress which cost me $300 and then another $380 in alterations to take it back off. They also tried to tell me I needed to order a size 14 wedding dress. I usually wear a size 8 dress…I ordered a 10 and had to have it taken in. It took 12 weeks for my bridesmaids dresses to come in. The lady at the salon said there was “nothing they could do about it, it’s the company blah blah blah.” Well I called several other bridal salons and asked about the same dresses and they all claimed they could get them in 6-8 weeks…So obviously not the company. Also, their sizing was terrible on these dresses as well and every girl had to have her dress taken in. They tried to scare everyone about going to get alterations somewhere else…definately a money making tactic.
Then when it came time to get the veil, I got sucked into their awesome sales skills again and fell in love with a “custom” veil. The price tag on it was over $300 which I thought was ridiculous, and they told me it would take them 12 weeks to get it in. I told her I would have to think about it, because at that point I only had 13 weeks until the wedding and I really didn’t trust them to deliver. She wrote down some random number and told me to call back if I wanted to order it. Anyways, I ended up bringing the tag to another salon and the sales lady there spent well over an hour trying to figure out which company made the “custom” veil. She finally found it and was able to order it for half the price and it came in 4 weeks.
Bottom line is your wedding dress salon should not be a cause of anxiety or stress and Wedding Angels was…BIG TIME.
