I was in Atlanta last August with my best friend and I fell in love with the city. I only had two days there, so I’ve decided to come back this July with my mother for a week. I’d love to hear some suggestions for things to do. We’re planning on the aquarium already 🙂
My mother is not a big museum person, so that’s probably not something we’ll do. Other than that, I’m open! We are big foodies and would love some suggestions for places to eat.

@MsMonkey: Welcome to the ATL – in advance. 😉 If you’re going to the aquarium, the Coke museum is right there as well. That’s always worth a visit. As a fellow foodie, it really depends on your budget and what you are willing to spend/eat. Atlanta has amazing food! I must suggest Bacchanalia if you are willing to spend the money – it is an AMAZING restaurant and quite possibly one of the best meals I’ve ever eaten. It’s of course, an expensive pre-fixe menu. I assume since you’re a foodie, it means you are…adventerous in your eating? If so, it’s sister restaurant, Abbatoir, is great – but it’s a lot of meat bits you wouln’t eat otherwise! Hmm, other than that – great restaurants – Bones, Rathbuns, Chops are great for steaks; MF sushi, Harry and Sons are great for sushi (harry and sons an Surin of Thailand are great for Thai too); Sotto Sotto, La tavola, La Grotta are great for Italian; Barcelona Wine Bar is a great late night/tapas hang out spot; Two Urban Licks, One Midtown Kitchen are great in the city/New American joints…and of course if you want really traditional ethnic food (Korean, Vietnamese, etc) you can’t go wrong with Buford Highway!
