It depends on what venues you guys are looking at. Saturdays in Atlanta can get very expensive quickly. But if you find a venue with no Saturday minimums, that budget is definitely do-able. I recommend my planner, Amy @ A Flawless Event. She’s easy to reach, responds very quickly, and it seems like most of the vendors we’ve met enjoy working with her.

@maymay05:  you’d definitely do better with a non Saturday but at least you aren’t trying for a spring wedding.

Heres a list of “reasonable” places:

Villa Christina

Roswell River Landing

Conservatory at Waterstone

venue 92

ashton Gardens

Hope this helps!!!!

ETA also check Old Decatur Courthouse

@maymay05:  Are you looking for indoors or outdoors? Something traditional (black tie seated dinner) or something more bohemian?

For a wedding planner I highly recommend Monica of http://www.extraordinaire-affairs.com.  She can let you know what to expect for your budget and help you figure out your personal preferences so you can narrow down venues.

My planner is WONDERFUL!!!!!  www.soireesouth.com – her name is Laura Wright.  The name of the company is Soiree South & Co.  I called her after seeing other brides talk about her on the boards.  She is amazing and I know that she can find you a venue and get that wedding planned out for you with that budget, that guest count and it will be beautiful!!  Good luck!!!  It will all be wonderful!!LaughingKiss

P.S.  Forgot to mention – my best fried is using Soiree South & Co./Laura Wright for her wedding right now.  I am a bridesmaid in it!  You will get your money’s worth from her and she is so passionate about helping her clients get the wedding they want!  Highly reccomend!

I got married at Primrose Cottage in Roswell.  It was AMAZING, and it is definitely doable on your budget (more than doable actually).  For the cake, top shelf open bar and martini bar, upgraded menu, decor (we went with minimal decor), and a day of coordinator it was around $15k for 100 people.  Of course that did not include the DJ and photographer and other expenses. That company owns several venues in the metro-area.  Congrats and good luck!

We are using Soiree South & Co too!  They have been a lifesaver for my fiance and I.  I just cannot say how happy I have been with the service I have received from Laura.  She returns my emails right away, phone calls returned right away. I had no idea where I wanted to have my wedding and reception – she picked a few according to my description of what I liked and my budget and set the appointments up for me to tour!  Then she created a budget for us (dividing up all the projected vendor costs) according to what we told her we were going to spend on our wedding.  That helped us so much!  That was how everything started off – and now I have amazing catering, beautiful flowers, the music we wanted – everything is coming together so well!  I am involved as much as I want to be in the planning.  Everything is turning out very upscale but we are staying on or under budget on every vendor. I will tell anyone who is getting married in Atlanta to hire them before you even start the planning process!  Here is the website: http://www.soireesouth.com

Best wishes to you.

@maymay05:  Check out Cater Woolford gardens, they have an indoor atrium for receptions and a garden setting for the ceremony. It would be really pretty in June. I don’t know if your budget will hold up as well in a hotel or ballroom on a saturday night, but it never hurts to ask around. By the way, be very weary of people posting on here recommending vendors and they’ve only got 1 or 2 previous posts – usually means they are the vendor recommending themselves!

P.S.S.  Had to add Villa Christina!  I saw another poster mention that place but I know it is inexpensive.  I have gone to 3 weddings there and it is nice.  Also the atrium is another place I’ve been to for other people’s weddings and they seem to do a good job.  If you get a planner – you can give them your budget though and they will decide how much you can or should spend on a venue.  They probably can also get you a discount – ours did!  You can probably get a better place as well if you use a planner.  I never thought I’d be able to have my reception on the day we did and at the venue we ended up at.  It involved so much work.  A good planner can make good things happen!  🙂 There are so many places in Atlanta.  A planner can make your life so much easier and your search shorter and save you money.  My best friend found her venue in one week thanks to our planner and she had been struggling for 3 months trying to find a place.  This process should be fun.  Eliminate the stress and get a planner.  You can be as involved as you want and get un-involved when you want too! Laughing 😉
