I am taking my sister to Atlantic City to celebrate her 30th birthday in July (well, birthday was this past week, but she is a teacher, so trip is a belated birthday gift). She just found out via the card I sent her and is very excited – neither of us have ever been there.
We are staying in a hotel with a casino (Tropicana), but beyond that, I don’t know anything about the nightlife during the week. We are going Mon-Thurs, but it seems like most nightclubs are only open Thurs-Sun. I want this trip to be a lot of fun for her and she tends to like bars/dancing/drinking scenes. Any tips for getting the most of out of the nights we are there?
(I figure the beach, boardwalk, casino, etc. can keep us entertained during the day, but any tips for two Atlantic City first-timers are welcome!)

LadyBear : I think the Pool at Harrahs nightclub is open Wednesday nights?
Are you going soon? There should be a beach bar open by Ballys! it can be quiet during the week, but check out what Borgata has going on. They always have comedy shows and sometimes good concerts! There are quite a few fun bars there also!

Chef Vola is the best meal. It is the best italian food outside of Italy. Huge potions, BYOB. Everytime we are in AC we eat there. My husband has dined there for numerous bachelor parties.
It is better with a group, but Darling Husband and I have gone ourselves many times too.
Reservations are a must. The number used to be secret, you had to know someone who had been there. But now you can find it on the internet.

if you are staying in the party tower of the trop, you will need ID everytime you go to the elevator. You cannot bring any food or drink with you either also, no guests other than who is on name of room and people at elevators check it everytime you leave room. Its like fort Knox LOL. They recenlty started doing this since the rooms located right next to the nightlife within the Trop had so many noise complaints. Just a hesds up.
The Harrahs Pool Party in the Harrahs Hotel IS AWESOME!!!!
Tropicana has great night life.
Ceasars has awesome shopping, there is an entire mall and food court in that hotel.
Borgota is very trendy and nice but you will need a cab to get there but lots of young people and lots to do.
LOVE AC have been many times 🙂 going there for bach 🙂

Be very careful and aware of your surroundings at all times. Crime is off the hook in AC.

- Wedding: April 2017 - Valleybrook Country Club
The POOL atfer dark at Harrah’s is open Wednesday.
All of the casinos have bars and a lot of them play music and you can dance and whatnot even though it may not be the typical night club vibe.
I am quite fond of Carmine’s & Margaritaville.
There is a beach cabana across from the Tropicana which is great for some day time fun on the beach and you can be served alcoholic beverages

LadyBear : My ILs live about 20 minutes away…I’ll be honest and say AC is pretty gross in general so just be prepared. They have been trying to clean things up a bit over the years and so the outlets are great if you like shopping. The Trop has their interior section – full of shopping and restaurants. There is gambling 24/7 obviously…but I can’t really speak to the clubs since I’ve never done them there. That being said July is the height of tourist season, so you should be able to find plenty to do. I would bet in July you’ll find some clubs open and there will be PLENTY of bars.

futremrswhite17 : Thanks for the tips. I have NO idea what tower our rooms will be in, but maybe I’ll stash a bottle of wine or two in my suitcase in case we aren’t allowed to bring drinks up later.
leilarobs2 : Will do. Thanks for the reminder!
ajillity81 : Might have to look that place up to see if I can get a reservation. Our mom’s side of the family is Italian, so it is definitely a favorite cuisine of ours.

For a casual lunch go to Jo-Jos on the Black Horse Pike and Main St. in Pleasantville. It’s about 5 minutes down the road. Best pizza/subs in the area. Tourists go to White House Subs in AC but they can’t touch Jo-Jos. Leila is AC born and raised 😉
