I’m having a wedding at the Atrium at the Curtis Center. I’ve heard rave reviews about it, expect for one thing: acoustics. I’m really nervous about it because we are going with a band that my fiancee LOVES (his contribution to the wedding!), but it is a definitey bar/beachy band…NOT a typical wedding band. Beacuse of that, they are only a 4-5 piece band, instead of a larger band.
Does anyone have any advice on how to advise them on acoustics? I don’t want the music to get swallowed up by the very high ceilings.
I even looked in to cancelling the band and finding one that is well versed with the venue, but we couldn’t get our 50% deposit back, so it was going to cost a lot.
SO – we need to make the most of it. They are an awesome band that will have everyone up dancing. The question is, how can they (and the speeches, etc.) best be heard?
