I’m South African. I can’t really comment since we don’t have a domestic but I wanted to say that my Fiance totally helps around the house – he’s very much domesticated 🙂 He cooks, cleans, does laundry and irons.

My dad on the other hand is a different kettle of fish. He doesnt lift a finger as far as cooking and everyday cleaning goes unless he really has to. The only thing he really ever does is vacuum and perhaps changes the linen. I guess with my parents they have mostly taken the more traditional male/female roles in their relationship. My mom cooks and cleans and my dad takes care of the handy man more masculine sort of stuff.

@Smurfylove82:  haha! I guess it also helps that I REFUSE to do everything myself… If the dishes pile up ‘cos he’s too lazy then so be it…If he has no clean undies left – tough! 🙂

I’m also South African.

MY Fiance is also very domesticated LOL. He cooks, washes disches, gardens, etc. even though we have a domestic helper in both the house and the garden.
