I am considering not wearing a veil for the first look and placing it on maybe during the end of the shoot and get a few pictures of it on or wait til before the ceremony to add it on. The only thing that concerns me is that the person doing my hair/makeup will be leaving pretty much before the first look. I am worried I won’t be able to place the veil in myself Or I will mess my hair up.
please see a photo of how my hair will probably look. I want to wear the veil not too high. Will it be difficult?

Why don’t you want the veil on for the first look? Just curious about your reason.
As for placing the veil, I think it depends on what kind of veil you have. I have a single-layer veil that’s attached to a comb, so I can put it on myself no problem. If you’re doing a drop veil that needs to be pinned in place, it might be more challenging.

if it’s attached to a comb it’s easy – i would have your stylist show your Maid/Matron of Honor where to put it in, and have her practice doing so once before your stylist leaves. then when you want to put it in, have her do it rather than trying to do it yourself. fwiw, i was my sister’s Maid/Matron of Honor and put her veil in her hair during the “getting dressed” photos.
even if you have a drop veil, you can get the veil attached to a comb in such a way that it’s not gathered (this is what my sister had – you can’t see the veil at all, but it’s still a drop-veil style)

My veil had a comb and my Maid/Matron of Honor pulled it out no problem. She just wiggled it back and forth slowly. It didn’t mess my hair up at all.
