YAY good luck!!!  I was not a DIY bride either, i am not very crafty but then I started and could not stop!!  We did so many DIY projects and saved a ton of money, we also got a ton of complements… It was so worth it!

@Leonard2B:  I think it looks great! To be clear, though, what do you mean by “smoother”, as far as the letter goes? I want to be able to give you the right advice and not something totally irrelevant!

Looks great!! I think to make it a little smoother, just go lighter on the paint and then go over it a 2nd time if you need to make it brighter.

I like it! I think if you wanted the letter to be smoother you need to do several very light coats. It looks fine to me though. I wouldn’t make the letter bigger… but that’s likely a personal preference thing.
