Hello fellow bees!
We are going to a tasting event held by the caterer for our venue tonight. We’ve already sampled some of the items (the vineyard set up a private tasting before we booked the date) but this would be more of a sampling selection of all passed appetizers, dinner entrees and CAKE.
Sillu question but what should I do there other than the obvious?? Do I take notes, take pictures, what questions should I be asking the chefs and event coordinators?
As much as I love food and wine, I’m trying to make this tasting as productive as possible, because we don’t live near the venue and won’t have many other opportunities to do this again.Thank you !

@kinsykarma: Ok this seems small, but I never would have thought of it because I was so concentrated on the food. Pay attention to the entree presentation (i.e. the plates and bowls they use). We are having a very classic wedding and all of the plates and bowls were very contemporary so it looked odd. I asked if there were other options nad they had about 5. Again, a small thing, but so easy to change and such a big effect once everything is on the table.

@kinsykarma: Really take your time is my best suggestion. Don’t settle and if you have questions do not be afraid to ask. Try and take into consideration flavors and try not to pick something that would conflict with the rest of the meal. Oh and have fun!
