  • Wedding: November 2015

I’m getting married in November.

My dress is the Maggie Sottero Larissa.

My theme is… okay, we like to say our wedding is “How To Train Your Dragon” inspired as opposed to “themed”. We’re going to have dragon eggs as centerpieces, we’re going to encorporate some Viking wedding traditions into it, and I’m pretty sure his brothers are ridiculously excited about wearing swords/axes.

Our colors are red, silver, and black – like the Berk shield!

My venue is the Black Canyon Inn and Twin Owls Steakhouse in Estes Park, CO. Lookit that view!

Our budget is ~$15,000.

ETA: Yes, I’m aware I’m a geek.

  • Wedding: December 2015

I’m getting married in October.

I’m wearing two dresses, both being made by a seamstress.

venue is a mansion.

I’m  African and my groom is Indian. We have no theme per se, but we will have plenty of cultural influences.

Colors are red gold and ivory. Red and gold because they are traditional Indian wedding colors as well. Ivory just because.

budget is 25k, but at least 5k of that is for us flying our families over here and renting apartments for their stay for a week or so. So more like 20k.

I got married in November. I had a “gatsby theme”. Tuxedos. Feathers. White roses (the “real feel” from hobby lobby). Drop waist dress ($500!) I made all of my bouquets, bouts, center pieces (floral). Budget was 10, we went 15. I even had it at my Catholic Church so didn’t even pay for a venue. Food, and linens is what got me. David’s bridal has a ton of sales all the time. Hobby lobby app is necessary. If you’re crafty, do DIY! I designed almost every table one by one. we had so much fun! Hoping these pics wont be too big!

My dress:

My venue:

Victorian1

Victorian3

Our budget is about $30,000. We’re going for a Romantic yet fun feel. After the ceremony, which will be outside under those trees, we will clear that out and have some lawn games. Our pups are co-ring bearers/flower girls with my niece and nephew. I’m just so excited to have all of the people I love in one place and marry my FI!

gijanedoe:  I’ll play too!

My dress –

And my shoes!!!

Our theme is Autumn Apple – we will have red apples in clear glass vases (circle fish bowls for centre pieces and tall hurricane vases for the altar. And an explosion of flowers at the top. Something like this…

Our favours will be candy and chocolate covered apples. They will also serve as our place cards.

Our colours are red/orange/yellow (think fire, or sunset, or an tree in the Fall). Our cake will look something like this (but smooth buttercream and 4 teirs).

Our venue – an Estate property along the river. Outdoor ceremony in the auditorium, cocktails on the front lawn of the house, and reception in a tent. The estate has 30 acres in total for pictures.

Our budget is $35,000. But I’m on track for it to be closer to $30,000.
