We have 4 Groomsmen who will be in tuxes. We also have 3 ushers. Our plan was to just have them wear a dark suit. We would provide their tie, etc. We thought this was a good idea so they didn’t have to spend a ton of money.
Well it turns out that one of ushers does not have a dark suit. In fact, we’re not even sure if they all do.
Should we just put them in tuxes? Does Men’s Warehouse rent suits?
What would you do?

@stephinPA: If only one of them lacks a suit, I’d just ask him if he’d like to take this opportunity to buy a cheap suit since he will need it for Life As A Man and renting would be a waste of his money and be a zero investment for future weddings, interviews, fancy events, funerals, etc. The alternative is to have everyone shell out $100-190 for a rental which is zero investment into their wardrobe. He can get a basic, cheap suit for that amount.
This suit would cost him $50….
These would be about $85..
Add the fact that he can spend $40-$80 on tailoring and look smashing in an inexpensive suit that would look 5 times better than an ill-fitting rental suit that can’t be altered… If he knows this cost/benefit analysis, I can’t see him wanting to rent something. That’s how I see it anyway.
Or he could borrow someone’s suit. Know anyone about the same size?

@Verno – thanks for this. This guy is in his 40’s, married with two kids and when my Fiance told me he didn’t have a dark suit I almost fell off my rocker. REALLY? Yikes.
