Good morning Charting Bees!
I have decided if I do not get my BFP this month, I want to start charting next month. The thing is I don’t know if it’s possible for me to do it. I know you are supposed to take your temp before you get out of bed in the morning, and at the same time everyday. My problem is that I wake up multiple times a night so I rarely get a good nights sleep and I’m sure this probably effects my temps.
Thank you in advance for any input!

@BookaholicBee: I never sleep through the nigHt either. As long as you get a few solid hours before temping you should be fine.

It will likely affect your individual temps but as long as you get 3hrs of uninterrupted sleep your data will be valid. Despite your sleep problems, you’ll still be able to see an overall pattern. I think it’ll be good! If you’d like, come join us on the Charters Thread. We keep track of eachothers charts & there are some very knowledgeable ladies there that give excellent advice!

I’m a very light sleeper and I frequently wake up during the night. I had no issues charting.
It’s worth a try – charting isn’t a huge investment at all. All you need is a BBT thermometer (can be purchased at your local pharmacy for around $10 – $15) and you may choose to pick up a copy of Taking Charge of Your Fertility but I honestly never bothered.

I agree with all the other bees. I would try charting regardless of your sleeping habits. At first I was afraid that my data would be skewed on nights that I had a rough time sleeping, but really I didn’t notice a difference between those temps and the other ones. I actually really enjoy charting because it teaches you so much about your body!

Thank you all so much! I will definitely give it a try next month, but hopefully I won’t need to 🙂
