Thanks ladies! I’ll definitly check out Texas Old Town and Star Hill Ranch. Also, if anyone else is interested, I found out that the Allan House offers a complimentary heated tent for winter weddings–something that otherwise would totally put us over budget. Happy planning!

A quick update for Austin-area Bees: Don’t be afraid to negotiate venue prices! I’m not always the best at this, but when I told our preffered venue that we didn’t think we could afford the extra labor and extended hour costs they charged compared to other venues, they were incredibly accommodating. I just got 10% taken off my total cost, one staff member released from the contract, plus an extra hour at the venue just for asking what they could do about the price.

Weddings are expensive, but I’m learning that people are willing to compromise if you ask the right questions!

@AmberFl:  that’s awesome! Do you mind me asking if you went with Allan House? Fiance and I looked at Allan House back when we were venue shopping, the location is amazing! We ended up going with Barr Mansion which is my dream venue.

@cactus82:  We actually decided on Kali Kate. I agree with you that the Allan House’s location is incredible, but  we were hoping for a larger lawn area than what their setup allows. I didn’t visit Barr Mansion, but I’ve head great things about it! Congrats 🙂

Texas Old Town is gorgeous!!! We still havent booked our venue, prices are so ridiculous around here (Austin). And there arent many venues that hold more than 150 people! I shall make it work though- congrats!

Hello ATX brides!  We are getting married at the Embassy Suites Hotel in San Marcos. I fell in love when I found out how much they included, and  I didn’t have to reach out to so many different vendors.  Happy Planning!

What’s up my ATX brides?! My fiance and I are getting married in North Austin at the Avery Ranch Golf Club! 🙂 It has a gorgeous backdrop for pictures and has everything we want for our wedding ceremony and reception venue!
