The aubergine is lovely – I think it pops on that dress way more than the gold color. But I think you need to make sure and try on that color before you dedicate to it, just in case you’re one of the few people dark purple doesn’t work very well on.

Yes, do the purple! My dress is a dark ivory but my bouquet is purple and my one bridesmaid is wearing purple. If I hadn’t bought my dress in 2011 I would have worn this:

I love the aubergine! Purple is my favorite color anyways, but I also dont think gold is flattering on most skin colors.

Aubergine for sure!  So beautiful and elegant.  The gold doesn’t hold a candle to the aubergine.

But, I’m a bit biased.  Fellow purple lover here.

I think the champagne just pales in comparison.  The aubergine  color is so beautiful.  If your groom is ok with it, go for it!
