We got the Vtech Safe and Sound Digital Audio Baby Monitor. We have a camera monitor but it’s more of a security monitor that you use through wifi so we wanted an audio monitor we could use. Our Father-In-Law bought this one for us and I haven’t done any research on it until now to get the full name. We’ve used it a few times this week and so far it works really well. It’s super clear sounding and we can hear her small little chirps with no problem. You can use it as a 2 way speaker so you can talk to her or you can talk to your partner if they’re around the other monitor. You can also use it as a nightlight. From the few reviews I just saw while looking at the name, it seems to have problems not working after a few months.. so we will see but so far so good. It’s only $50 so if it does die it’s not a huge loss..

I don’t have personal experience, but I was recommended the Angelcare Movement and Sound Monitor by 3 different new moms and registered for it myself. One has the video monitor and loves it but I’ve read some less than stellar reviews on it, and it’s quite expensive.

The regular audio one is available at Babies r us (canada) for $139
