With the countdown on to 4 months… My Study is what a call a semi organised wedding DIY dumping ground.
Im personally feeling a little tired.. and have actually SLOWED down on the wedding stuff this last week Ive given it a bit of a break and tried not to do anything. Also Im trying not to let my checklist overwhelm me.I think the boxes on the paper will haunt me in my sleep. Also the drink green tea is starting to become my regular ‘not stress the hell out relief’ at the moment.
Anything you finding that is stressing you out? any dramas? you feeling organised? on top of it all??
Its rather getting exciting this countdown!
EDIT: I did have this as August 14th but I dont want other august brides to feel left out 😛

Well I’m a week before ya CCranetobe and I’m hanging in there too! And also juggling two legal issues I’m dealing with (one w/ the crazy x and another dealing with probate court from grandparents’ estate) so it’s been double wacky.
But wedding planning is going smoothly. I got my florist yesterday and am so excited!
My focus this weekend is on getting my house ready to show (have two appts with possible buyers/renters). I did a lease purchase, but obviously didn’t renew my contract for the year after getting engaged and just ready to move!

bellenga: sorry to hear about the court cases hope everything turns out for the best!
Exciting about the florist tho! you having real or silk flowers? Good luck with the house appointments too!
I forgot to add, Im having my first dress fitting this weekend! Bit nervous!

Thx! The case w/the ex should be cut and dried and is more of a hassle than anything. The other one involves a dispute with my mom who is a whole hot mess on her own without my sis or I to begin with. That one will take care of itself over time and why I just will let a legal professional deal with it!
I’m having real flowers. She’s amazing! Truly an artist. I can do floral arrangements, but know better than to do big stuff for my own wedding and so glad I’ve got her to do the biggie things and the bm bouquets! Had a seashell bouquet made a while back and it turned out gorgeous! (etsy designer)
Hope your dress fitting goes beautifully! Believe it or not, t his is the last thing I’ve been putting off!

Holding up well! Yesterday my fiance looked at our wedding to-do list and crossed off a few items then said to me “I can take care of a few of these.” That just made the stress melt away!
We received invitations in the mail yesterday. I added a rubber stamp to the corner of all the inner envelopes, and today they’re off in the mail to our calligrapher. We bought the invitations, but I DIY’ed the response cards. I finished them a few weeks ago, so they are ready when we do get the envelopes back. I am SO glad we went the calligraphy route—when they come back, all we have to do is stuff and mail. No writing cramps for us!
As for other items on the list…we finalized our flowers with the florist last week, which is a big relief. A week before that they said they didn’t have our contract that we sent in months ago, so that gave me a little heart attack. 😛
I’m just plugging away at our iPod playlist which is coming along nicely, but very time consuming. I am cropping out obnoxious dead space before/after songs or any applause that are on the tracks. I swear I’ve been working on this playlist for 5 months now, and I imagine it’ll take a couple more!

sunnydebs I tried doing an ipod playlist but it was way too hard, the time and the choice? so its awse you stuck it out! I ended up booking a DJ instead.. 🙂

Um I didn’t even realize until I just saw this that it’s 4 months now so clearly I’m not doing well. Ugh.

I’m kind of freaking out about the fact that I’m not freaking out. Does that make sense? I’m nervous that I’m going to blow up because I’ve been such a mellow bride…

well everything was going smoothly, up until we decided to buy a house, found a house, put an offer in, and our offer was accepted…all in the past 3 days!! so my mind has not been in wedding mode at all, I am really worried I wont get all my DIY projects done now that I will be moving into a new house in the next month. I still have to do all my centerpieces and flowers! plus my photographer (a close friend) will no longer be able to come to the wedding, so i had to scramble and find another one. WOW! i wish things could slow down a bit…did i mention i have an 8 month old who is starting to crawl all over the place

We were horribly lazy in March but things are starting to pick back up.
Printed a mock up of our invitations and making some slight adjustments to them. Figured out the RSVP situation for us.
Maid/Matron of Honor is moving full steam ahead with her Bridal Shower plans.
Should have a Bridesmaid or Best Man dress decision by this weekend. Either we’re getting the one I suggested or we need to start looking for another ASAP.
Going wedding band shopping this weekend for ideas to give to our jeweler.
Got to start Wedding Brew Trial 3 sometime next week hopefully.
Trying to get some decisions made this month because May is going to be INSANE for us.

I’ve been lazy the last couple months with school, but I’ve been trying so hard to keep up with my list! How do you do it?!
doing ok! We are behind on mostly everything but we have had a really short engagement plus we changed our minds twice on LOCATION! lol so we arent’ doing too badly considering.
Lately the biggest problem has been our 2 major vendors- venue and caterer are not very easy to work with. Both Fiance and I are really annoyed about that! Our feeling is, why should we pay you all this money if you are not even nice?! ah LOL! But there is really not too much we can do. The venue coordinator even hung up on Fiance yesterday! We’ve even had thoughts of changing our venue just to prove a point but it’s basically too late.
We are hanging in there though.

love2lol any update on the vendor?? I would be a bit devo about going there. Have you paid any of your contract yet?

We are semi-organized but it’s been crazy! I feel like we have so much left to plan and I don’t care what anyone says, destination weddings are NOT easier unless it’s just the 2 of you. Also, my ex is dragging me back to court for custody… like 5 weeks before the wedding so that has kinda brought down the fun mood of planning as well as our funds. DIY it is.
