Hmm, I feel like most of my to-do list is either done (not much) or still needs to be put off.  To do this month:

– get Fiance sized and wedding ring ordered

– order parent gifts

– ask officiant to officiate (!)

– work on writing ceremony?

– practice DIY hair & makeup

– talk with my dad aka florist re: what flowers to plant in the garden for our centerpieces & bouquet/bout

– schedule wine-making expedition

– work on signs / DIY decor

The payment schedule struggle is so real right now. I get paid once a month. To see your account go from $X,XXX to $XXX in a matter of 3 days is so hurtful but at least we’re making progress by paying vendors and buying things.

Aside from paying folks, I was able to squeeze in a few items:

I bought my veil from Etsy for $30. I was not interested in spending $200 for a veil that I’m going to wear for 30 minutes and for maybe 3 photos. I didn’t care if it had a lot of detail because my dress has a lot of detail on the bodice. The emphasis is on my dress, not my veil. So I found a vendor selling light ivory fingertip length veils for $30 and that was perfect.

I also ordered some earrings from Etsy. I plan to order my necklace and my FI’s ring next month.

We ordered and sent out save-the-dates (a last minute decision) at the end of the week last week and now our future-guests are receiving them. So exciting!! πŸ™‚

This month, I’m going to work on collecting some of the little things we need for decorating the escort table. We need a few frames and a cake pedestal. I have some of these things around the house so it’s a matter of gathering everything and keeping a little inventory of it all.

We also need to:

– Book hotel rooms for wedding and wedding night

– Book photographer for engagement photo session (looking at May)

– select parent gifts and gifts for wedding party (will order them later)

– work on music selections to prepare for meeting with the DJ in May

– start dance lessons (learning to waltz)

– cupcake tasting this coming Saturday
– pay next reception payment (end of this month)
– order Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses
– paint pieces for reception/signage IF it gets warmer (it snowed today…wah :()
– start thinking about order of events
– book my trial and give the salon a list of things for the day of
– stalk the post office for those gorgeous seed packet stamps (they come out on Wednesday, for anyone who’s interested!!!)
– finalize reception menu
– purchase bits and build ceremony backdrop
– keep hoping that we can afford a honeymoon πŸ™

Other than that, we’re basically just paying everything off!

This month is going to be crazy! I need to:

-Hire a DJ

-Figure out an officiant (help someone get ordained)

-Take engagement pictures

-Figure out day-of hair & makeup for myself & BM’s

-Arrange shuttle for guests

-Schedule alterations for my dress

-Order invitations

-Purchase the rest of my reception decorations

-Figure out “special songs” for father/daughter, mother/son dances

-Purchase wedding rings

-Start writing vows & ceremony

And considering I only started planning this wedding 2 months ago, that’s not bad! πŸ™‚

@lovelylight99:  I know!  I can’t believe in 4 months, I’ll be his wife πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚  What kind of dance lessons are you taking? Most of what I have left is just finishing things.

March was so productive – I finished my wedding look,

My April To Do List:

1) Finalize ceremony with officiant.  We’ve got everything picked, I just need to send it off to him!

2) Finalize ceremony and cocktail hour music.  I have to narrow things down a bit more, but I’m almost done.

3) Hair trial – I’ve been practicing a lot of different techniques, now I’ve got really try a few styles to narrow it down.  Definitely looking at something half up that can be converted for a dance-heavy reception.

4) Continue the great lash caper – practicing with false eyelashes!  These are hard, y’all.

5) Wrap ladies gifts

6) Hotel blocks and shuttles, book hotel room for photographer.

7) Build and order programs for ceremony.

8) Touch base with florist to change a few details (mostly estimation errors).

9) Pocket squares and ties!

10) Begin Rehearsal dinner plans!

11) Track RSVPs as they come (hopefully) rolling in!

12) Decorate cork board for escort card display.

13) Call to book cake.

14) Type up master list of things left to do with amounts, due dates, contact information, etc.  Lots of details!

15) Take a stab at the day-of timeline.

  • Fiance need to make invitations!  He promises to work on them every day starting tomorrow (ha!)  We did the photo face session of us that he’s going to utilize in his concept.
  • Ordered the cake cutting set.  We already have the stand.
  • Consolidate address lists for the invitations
  • Figure out something with the hair
  • Start losing ten pounds so that I can move more comfortably in my dress. Now that the days are longer and I can run outside again, this shouldn’t be too hard.
  • We’re moving his cats in this weekend! This is part of the to-do item of making sure my father’s wife falls in love with the cats…they will need a sitter for the honeymoon.
  • Seriously try to figure out my hair.
  • Think more about the vows and the reception music, we’ve asked my father and his brother to play guitar.
  • Keep saving money.

-Call in to make our appointments with the hairstylist and Make-up artist.

-Pick up invitations. We ordered them from a different city (2 hours away) since there was no one around here that designed them, so we will need to make the trip up to pick them up now.

-Make a date to meet with photographer to pay deposite, and go over the day schedule

-Pick a date for engagement pictures

-Decide what im going to get the bridesmaids for gift

-Decide what im going to get the parents for gifts

-Book hotel rooms

-Find an officiant (ASAP!!)

-Find someone to play guitar at reception

-Get FI’s ring picked and ordered

-Meet with decorator and florist

-Book transportation

-Try to get off a bit more weight to fit into my dress

I am sure theres lots more, but I have a busy month!! haha

Omg!  So much to do!  I am entering April with a renewed sense of vigor πŸ™‚

  • Lock down what the grooms/bridesmen are wearing
  • Choose music for specific things (about 25% done so far)
  • Finish designing invitations, start printing
  • Design escort cards, programs, menus, and any other signage
  • Continue getting decor ready, purchasing and altering – no excuses not to do projects now that the weather is getting above 50!
  • Start exercising again…
  • Work on logistics for rehearsal dinner, getting some push back from my mom on how “fancy” everything needs to be…
  • start buying presents for bridal party + Fiance
