Thanks for starting the board!

ROLL CALL

Your age/partner’s age: 36/34

Baby #: 1

Cycles TTC:  Since late 2017-early 2018, but have been off birth control for almost 6 years now.

Current CD/DPO: 1

Usual cycle length: 25-27 days

Ovulation date or procedure (and what kind): July 23rd, but I think that might change

POAS/Beta day: August 9th

Known fertility issues: unexplained, but I have a luteal deficiency

BFP plan: Supplements, progesterone, BD as much as possible. I hate temping so I don’t want to continue with that but I know I have to.

Trying anything new this month? I think I’m going to make a strong go of losing weight and cutting carbs. I am overweight so I wonder if it will help. Over the past two years I’ve lost 25 pounds so I am going to accelerate what I’ve been doing.

For Fun – what are you planning in August that is not fertility related? we are going away for a long weekend.

anev :  I was thinking that as well! I’ve been taking P for 4 cycles now. I’m losing hope that it will work as most anecdotes I’ve heard about P working for luteal phase deficiencies seem to be 2-3 months. I think I’m going to buy an Ava. I’m just having soooo much trouble tracking my temperature. Either I wake up too early or too late or my mouth is dry.  It’s really stressing me out.

anev :  This will be my third round of taking both Clomid and Letrozole together. You basically take both together starting on CD3-CD7. Just pills, so no big deal. I’m hoping I respond to this round too! I did the first time at least!

I make all sorts of bath and body products. I started out making bath bombs and shower steamers. I now make lotions, scrubs, soaking salts, and solid shampoos and conditioners. It’s been fun testing and developing recipes!

anev :  Sounds like my cycle too – only I O early on, and then have a short luteal phase. Since I’ve been tracking my cycles they range from 21 days to 26 days. Usually I spot a lot in my luteal phase, from ovulation to my period. My period used to be like yours too, just brown spotting and brown clots – accupuncture has really improved it though. Much more bright red healthy blood.

Your RE sounds great. I think its for the best that you are trying IVF right away, you’ve been trying so long. If it doesn’t work then you can think about different treatment options.

Ya, send me the coupon code! I’m still thinking about buying it but if I have it then I might use it.

anev :  next AF is expected on 8/14 so you can put me down for that day. Our appointment with the specialist got pushed up to end of July so We are happy to see him sooner than August. He’s getting better with it. He cried when the doctor first told him but soon after he was already trying to come up with a plan B… naming possible sperm donors if microtese isn’t successful. He’s definitely stronger than I am!

You have plenty of time to find a cool image for August lol no pressure. We all here used to waiting anyway so no rush lol

Hey ladies!  I am not going to roll call quite yet since AF isn’t due until tomorrow or Friday, but I will be joining ya’ll over here soon (I thought this could be the month but today is 11DPO, BFN, and temp dropped pretty significantly).  This will be my first time posting on the infertility POAS boards.

This next cycle will be month 13, cycle 14 of TTC.  I have a 16 month old that was conceived on our honeymoon so I’m kind of at a loss as to what is going on this time….guessing we just got lucky last time.  Anyways, the big reason I’m posting is to ask advice about my first infertility related appointment which is scheduled for August 7th.  At my yearly OBGYN appt in May I brought up that we had been trying for a while so she ordered two blood tests (TSH = 2.52, Prolactin = 8.9).  Since both came back normal she said we would follow up after the year mark…hence the appointment August 7th.

Any idea what I can expect at this appointment?  What tests might she run?  Any suggestions for questions I should ask?

XOXO

anev :  I’ve heard the same about going to an RE but the closest one is almost 2 hours away!  I can make that work if I have to, ugh.

She said she will refer Darling Husband for a SA so I know that will happen after that appt.  What I’m annoyed about with my OBGYN is that when I spoke to them to schedule my appointment I asked if they wanted to schedule for a specific day of my cycle and they said “nope, we don’t do much the first appointment anyways”. Is that normal?  because, I’m sorry, but…I’ve been waiting over a year already and I’m already a patient of hers, so why not jump right in instead of having an appointment then scheduling tests for the next month (my 1st appointment is towards the end of my cycle).  I guess I’m just getting antsy.  I have looked into supplements to lower my TSH but I don’t really want to start anything right before I get a bunch of tests ran.  I want the numbers to be ‘real”, if that makes sense?
