mel2 :  n00bee :  Nice that you’re keeping it fun but still letting your husbands know it’s the best time to BD πŸ™‚ When we first started trying my husband mentioned that talking about ovulation wasn’t very sexy. Now (9 months later) we are so matter of fact about it! i.e. this morning after I took my temp he asked if I think I’ve ovulated yet or if we should BD again today. He knows my cycle inside and out. I think the change came when he started reading about TTC on his own and realized how small the fertile window actually is every month. I’m glad we’re on the same page with wanting to hit the most fertile days, but at the same time it can be hard to keep it exciting when we feel like we “have to” BD on certain days.

rosabelle :  LOL I totally get the not sexy thing. As excited as I am to get pregnant, mentally I dont want to think about it while DTD bc i cant enjoy it as much – I start thinking about everything.

Thats good that he did his own research, probably makes him much more supportive and understanding.

Husband and I are pretty “active” so we have sex every day all the time, usually at least 2x. Now with the baby making excitement hes wanting it extra lol. Im happy to have more but also worry if we shouldnt be having so much and if that can affect sperm or something. No known issues though so for now Im just going with it. LOL. This is our first month trying so Im sure it will wear off in coming months as it gets more routine.

mel2 :  Good for you guys! Already frequently BD’ing should take away the worry of getting timing just right πŸ™‚ My husband works out of town a lot so we have to do a bit of planning to make sure we’re together on the most fertile days. Otherwise, my libido is stronger than his but he is very motivated about TTC!

hopfenn :  Same! He likes to know what to expect! πŸ™‚

Current Cycle Day/DPO: CD3

Ovulation Date: estimated July 8 (based on CD17 O last TTC)

POAS Date: Aug 22

Usual Cycle Length: 27-30 days (still breastfeeding, so it’s a bit wonky)

Cycles Trying: cycle 1 for baby 3

BFP Plan (BD timing, charting, prenatals, supplements, etc.): We’re still technically NTNP, but also trying to have more sex, so just having sex.

Trying anything new this month? As mentioned, just having sex might help.

Hi everyone! I just have to jump on this board because I’m going a little crazy and need some people also at this stage in life to help keep me sane! Although we aren’t officially starting TTC until Sept, we are NTNP this month and I will very likely POAS if we end up BD’ing in my fertile window.

ROLL CALL

Your age/partner’s age: 31 / 31

Baby #: 1

Current Cycle Day/DPO: CD 23

Ovulation Date: ~8/16 – 8/17

POAS Date: 8/29-30ish

Usual Cycle Length: 30 days

Cycles Trying: 1st cycle NTNP

BFP Plan (BD timing, charting, prenatals, supplements, etc.): prenatals, super clean eating, preparing for Sept by continuing to chart CM while using OPK’s to hopefully really nail down my fertile window.

Trying anything new this month: It’s all new so far!

For Fun:  What’s your favourite summer vacation spot? The Pacific Ocean in the PNW area where I spent all my summers as a kid! (Though it’s very far away now since as an adult I’ve always lived in Chicago.)

By the way, I’m surprised none of you laughed at me for my roll call. BDing for 10 days in a row?! I was way too ambitious lol. We BD’d all 5 days of my FW and were EXHAUSTED by the end lol!!

sassybeee :  5 days in a row is still impressive! We’ve been trying EOD this cycle which seems to work better for us πŸ™‚

My temp jumped up this morning so I think my fertile window is over. I’m a little confused by my chart and wish I’d used OPK’s this cycle. I also had less EWCM (only for 2 days). So far FF is putting my crosshairs for Sunday, which really surprised me since my temps were fairly low until today. Maybe after a few more days it will become clearer. In any case I feel a little disappointed that we didn’t BD more (only twice during my fertile days). I feel like I’ve already sort of written this month off mentally.

This is just a vent…I have had a history with ovarian cysts and fibroids, and have been on the pill for 14 years to help with the cysts.  I got off the pill in May, so it hasn’t been long but this is our third cycle trying. My grandma, mom, and sister all got pregnant SO easily – they never had to try! All of them got pregnant their first cycles trying. I know it’s different for everyone, but I had this fear it’d be hard for me given my history.  I also had hope I’d conceive easily like them.

Well, I had severe abdominal pain on one side to the point I couldn’t even walk on the day of ovulation (based on OPKS).  This happened last month too.  Two days after ovulation, I started spotting pretty heavily.  I just feel like this is going to be a long road, and I’m mad that it feels like I’ve been fighting my body since I was 14.

I’ll be making an appointment with my obgyn to make sure everything is okay due to the pain during ovulation. Has anyone else had severe pain on your O date?

My cycle started early so I might move my POAS Date depending on when I ovulate!

hopfenn :  Thank you for running this month, I hope it brings extra baby dust x
