We’re getting married in Nashville, TN and it’s sure to be at least 95 degrees on our wedding day. I’m struggling with how to wear my hair. I don’t look great w/my hair up and tight (all those years of ballet!), but I’m nervous about the humidity if I wear it down. It’s naturally straight. Luckily our wedding and reception are indoors, but we’ve planned a 2hr gap for pictures (likely outside) in between. I’m thinking a down-do or a loose updo are my best bet. How are you all wearing your hair?

I’m going with a classic chignon/low bun type thing. I have really really long hair and I don’t want to deal with it in my face or on my neck all day. It would just get gross after 5 minutes.

my hairdresser wants me to have it up, my FH wants me to have it down. But I dont want to have it down much as were we are getting married is really windy, and I dont want her to use a bottle of hairspray to keep it down 🙁
DECISIONS!

yeah i am feeling the same way! i think i’m going to try to do half-up, half-down but i’m not sure i have enough hair to make it worth it and i don’t know how much its really going to grow before august. (we have the same date!) considering extensions? i also worry about having it down and curled and it not keeping the curl at all b/c of the heat.
i have my first hair trial friday, so i’m going to ask her what she thinks given the probable humidity etc and what would look best. i love intricate up dos but i think my face is a little too round for it too look good enough for my wedding day. we’ll see what happens….

I’ll share my two inspiration pics with you…this is my favorite:

with just a touch of this added in:

What is the style of your dress, though? I think the hairstyle should really tie into the dress style…

I wore my hair in a chigon and grew out my bangs. I didn’t want to have sweaty hair plastered to my forehead and I didn’t want an half-fro that I would certainly get with the humidity. I would have liked half up half down, but it wasn’t practical. good luck!

I’m doing a low off-center bun that’s made up of all curls. My hair is really thick and frizzy so up is best for me in August!

This is my dress. I’m from DC (well, Fairfax County) and it gets hot there too. Tennessee heat is something that I’ve never experienced before. Honestly, sometimes the humidity makes it feel like you have an extra person strapped to your back.

I like wearing my hair down but it’s too gross in August in Nebraska for that. But I don’t like my hair pulled straight back or pulled really tight and I have a lot of hair so it hurts my head to have it put up too high.
So I’m thinking about going for the Eva Longoria/Taylor Swift low up-do, with a side part/sideswept bangs. This way I keep it soft and low so hopefully I won’t have a headache by the end of the day. ^_^

I’m so torn on this! I always choose updos because I have long, fine hair, but I want to do it down for my wedding. I would hate it if the curl fell out, but I plan to do a trial and maybe that will help me decide. I love the Eva/Taylor pics though!

@sgarrison LOVE that dress….almost bought it, it was my final two!! The pockets are the best, I’m having some put into mine because of that dress. I nicknamed it “cupcake dress”

@sgarrison – I feel your pain! I am getting married in Georgia and it will be incredibly hot and humid as well!! I really dont know what to do with my hair – Im guessing I will go with the loose updo because I look better with my hair down but its going to be WAY too hot!

I got married last August in Temecula, CA (inland from San Diego) and it was about 95 degrees during the day and still very warm at night. So I opted for an updo and had a “day after” session with our phototog the next morning and wore my hair down for parts of it – to get the best of both worlds.
