Well , I have my venue, catering, photograper, DJ, dress, shoes and have not even thought about tuxes yet looked at invitation not even close to a decision lol what I need to be thinking about is center pieces!! I’m getting a guy to do my favors in magnets so it’s something like a photo booth but in magnets have not booked him yet!

What I’m stressing over is we are buying a house and can’t wait till its over!!

1. flowers- waiting til the farmers market flower people are in to talk to them, so next month will be done

2.  look into lighting

3. grooms attire and groomsmen

4. diy bouts

5. rehearsal dinner invites

6. caterer tasting in 3 wks

7. rings

8. put together centerpieces

9. marriage license (needs to be 30 days out)

10. book an officiant- have the #’s already

11. see if there’s enough $ for a photobooth, probably last minute

12.  get all liquor, wine and beer (beer, last minute cause they are kegs)

13. invites put together and mailed

14. choose a hairstyle

15. print “in lieu of favor” cards- we’re donating to a charity instead

16. cake tasting

17. name cards

18. table numbers printed

i’m sure i’m missing something from both lists, just can’t remember right now!

ugh, I’m so behind I don’t even want to think about it.

but I have a venue, a photographer, an officiant, a dress (actually, multiple dresses, gah!), and a groom – that’s all you need for a wedding anyway, right? =P

LOL   thesejoys right that is all you need!!! OMG bind9449 you make me feel like I need to get a move on things.  I did take a month break of no wedding plainnng in Feb, now back to the drawing board Foot in mouth

@Nickynick:  i still think i’m behind though- at least i feel like i am! am i ahead?

i just readjusted  my list for some things i forgot so it doesn’t seem like i really did as much as it looked:)

 

i had a lot of momentum though, my sister just got married this past october so we vowed to not make the same mistakes that she did and wait til the last minute on things, or not realize how long things REALLY take.  wow- her wedding we were down to the wire, talk about stressful!  i guess it might have scared me a little Tongue out

@bind9449: Yes, I think you’re totally ahead. You might feel a little behind because of the flowers, but rest assured if things don’t work out at the market you’ll find a florist (I had a friend decide not to DIY and book a florist 1 month away and she found 3 available because they do multiple events).

We’ve got the hall, caterer, officiant/church, dress, maids…and I’m working on the invites still. All else still to be done. Suits are in the works supposedly.

Kermie that’s why she thinks she’s behind blind9449 is so ahead, I would like to think I’m not, but I know I am.  I just want to get the big things out the way to work on the small things. I think I will be fine but it’s scary when you think about it,  my coordinator been asking me to send her a spread of sheet of everything for 2months have not done it yet smh!!

I haven’t even had a full proposal yet because my engagement ring hasn’t come in but we have already started planning. I have a little bit of excentric unneeded organization needs so we have a lot yet… but still tons to do. 5 months to plan a wedding, but I’ve got the big stuff down.

Done:

  • Venue
  • Florist
  • Dress ordered (last Thursday)
  • Officiant
  • Cake
  • Make DIY Invitations
  • Shoes
  • Contact hair/make up person
  • Photographer

To do:

  • Engagement photoshoot
  • Actually send out invitations
  • Meet with hair/make up person, give deposit
  • Purchase outfits for ring bearers (no wedding party otherwise so makes it easy)
  • Purchase wedding bands (waiting on engagement ring to make sure it sits flush)
  • Book honeymoon
  • Book hotel rooms
  • Alter dress & groom’s suit
  • Purchase groom’s tie
  • Purchase favors
  • Pick wedding processional songs
  • Get marriage license (month before)

So far I have all the big stuff except the rentals. The venue (my parent’s acerage LOL), the catering (my family), the wedding party, etc. I’ve ordered my wedding dress which should be in next month, checked out Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses and the guys wear(haven’t gotten them yet though), figured out the centerpieces, and a few other little things aswell. I’m DIYing mostly everything so it’s one project at a time! 🙂
