Where did you register?? I started at crate and barrel which is my first choice but then I wanted to add something a little more accessible/cheaper so I looked into bed bath and beyond and target…..i was really disappointed with target’s website so it might be a no-go 🙁 Looking into honeymoon registries too, anybody have any good ones to recommend?

Working on DIY invitations this week, are people sending them in early May or later?

Still no groom/groomsmen tuxes, so gotta get on that.

My wedding dress is in!! Looking for embellishments and beading to have attached. Also making DIY veil….when I fail I’ll start shopping!

I’m planning on sending my invitations in the beginning of June, are you ladies doing similar timing?

This month, I’m wrapping up the last few vendors that need to be hired, then I’ll be knee-deep in DIY projects!

Great thread!  Off the top of my head:

-wedding bands

-decide on menu (at least the plated part, so we can make the invitations with choice)

-finish registry and have that put on the website

-approve the invitation design and find the paper for it and get ready to have them printed

@MissLLC I am also thinking of sending the invites in June

@ccranetobe  I am so impressed that your invites are ready to go; I was thinking of hair trials soon, but when I asked the salon when most people do it, they said like 2 weeks before—ha!  So I am going to at least wait until May when I have my last dress fitting and decide on the veil

@Rxbridetobe   We did the free honeymoon website, called Honeyfund, but paid for the ‘upgraded version’.  I am quite happy with this.  We did Crate and BArrel and did William Sonoma and will also do the BAy.  I do not care if people usually do only 1 or 2 places….why not do more? Gives guests more to choose from.  I am tempted to look at BBB because I’ve heard so many people raving about it on here.

Ugghhh. March was a waste for me. I’m pretty sure I got nothing on my March list done.

We are really going to have to kick it in high gear for April.

Topping the list right now are the invites.
We’re 8/7 so I am sending them out June 7.

Bridesmaid dresses.

Really have to get something going for Flower Girl dresses

Start suit shopping for Fiance

Hopefully at the end of the month my dress will come in.

We’re registered at Macys and MyRegistry (universal registry).

I don’t think it’s too early at all for hair/makeup trials. I actually did a mini trial back in February because I was back in NYC and I wanted to get it done. I’m contemplating whether I should do the full trial when I’m back in May for the bridal shower. Just doesn’t feel like there will be time. Sigh.

And oh! Dance lessons!!!

May is going to be INSANE.

Great Thread Ladies!

I have a lot to do in April; however, some of the DIY stuff can be deferred until May!

– book the chair rentals for the ceremony

– decide on centerpieces and book florist

– call a travel agent about honeymoon (FI needs to book off the time now :-S)

– meet with the caterer to do our tasting

– print the invitations (doing it this weekend at my parents)

– finish our registry (still need to choose linens and things)

– order my veil

– DIY card box

– DIY thank you ribbon (for a picture to make thank you cards)

– DIY escort cards

I am planning on sending out my invites at the beginning of June and getting my hair trial done 2 weeks before the wedding.

DECOR DECOR DECOR!!! there is still a lot of futzing going around and waiting for actual proposals from flowers, lighting, rentals etc.

hopefully finalize invitation design (we just got our first round of digital proofs)

find shoes and undergarments first fitting 5/1 – i’m totally lost with this. i think i will post a separate thread about it in dresses.

already had hair and makeup trials – where i am, you have to nail down the best people pretty early. i’ll probably do another one end of july since my hair will be much longer by then and my thoughts might have changed.

e-pics on sunday!

Love the thread!!   Ok so far here is what I have to do:

-Finalize rehearsal dinner place, give deposits, do menu, etc..

-decide on Bridesmaid or Best Man shoes!

-FH to do tux

-set up trial for makeup

– call church again.. and hopefully meet up with the new deacon who is marrying us!!

-finalize guest list

** I am mailing out invites middle of June since the rsvp is the end of July.. figured 6 weeks is a good amount of time.**

Ah I’m confused about invites now. Most of the people are traveling to my wedding so I thought I would give people 6-8 weeks to return invites and then have 6 weeks to change things (cake, chairs, food) that required RSVPs…plus people will prob wait to RSVP a week or so late so I’ll be calling people and stuff. Here’s my timeline:

Send Invites Mid-May

RSVP date of Mid July

Wedding Mid August

Or do people think they will need less time on either side? Everyone seems to be sending them in June, just wondering…

My list is:

Make up trial #2 (the first one didn’t go so well!)

Meeting w/organist & singer to determine ceremony music.

start working on ceremony programs

finalize honeymoon plans

I have my invitations – need to address them to send out.  I’m planning on sending early to mid june with responses due back end of july.

March was a useless month for me. This month I will be:

working on invitations

start a list for music

find shoes!!

figure out what GMs are wearing

So…how far in advance am I supposed to order the cake?? Can that be done fairly close to wedding? What about wedding bands? I think I will be sending out invitations in mid June since wedding is mid August. I hope April is more productive month. haha

i’m picking up our invites tonight!! we’re sending them on the early side–probably early may–we asked for an rsvp date of july 1, because we need to get the final meal count numbers to the caterer by july 20 and i wanted to give myself time to track down the late responders!

things on the list:

-chuppah poles

-table numbers–diy? etsy? i want wooden or metal numbers that would stand on the table…i’ve looked at a few hardware stores and nothing yet

-i owe our officiant a really long email response about ceremony content…

-more cake tastings

-decide on menu items to try at tasting in may…

-bridesmaid presents–i’m thinking jewelry to go with the dresses

-groomsmen ties

-my jewelry, and shoes (i think i found my pair! but i got the wrong size…)

-schedule engagement pictures!

RxBrideToBe: I’m sending my invites out in May as well because I have folks from out of state and out of the country that are coming so I want them to have all the details in time. I actually had to make some early invites for my family in Nigeria so that they could take them to the American Embassy to request a visa to come over from my wedding!

Hrm, let’s see.

-Wedding bands – we are having the plain vs. diamond discussion, endlessly

-Order invitations

-Get shower Thank You notes from shower hosts

-Decide on if the Bridesmaid or Best Man gift will be just their attire or if I want to get something else

-Finalize tuxes

-Choose ceremony musician

-Lose 10 lbs

Our tasting is on 5/18 and my first hair and makeup trial is 6/13
