Hi everyone, I’m back because my third beta doesn’t look good. I went from 324 to 1751 in six days, but this week my level only went to a little over 3K and my RE wants me in for an ultrasound tomorrow morning. I’m especially pissed because they waited all day to tell me and I had to call them to find out the news. I really hope they find a heartbeat, but I have a feeling we’ll be getting bad news tomorrow.

@piscesinsc:  Ugh, I’m so sorry. That’s pretty messed up that they waited all day to let you know — I think sometimes clinics can become de-sensitized to how important and life-changing these things are. I’m crossing everything for you.

@piscesinsc:  how far along are you.   If you’re far enough to see a heart beat, betas don’t really follow the doubling rule anymore.   My RE didn’t even bother with betas after like 5.5 or 6 weeks even when I had bleeding cause he said they don’t really tell much anymore once you can see anything on a u/s.  Hope you get answers and reassurance that everything is ok soon!

@pinkshoes:  I was 6 weeks as of yesterday, but my last beta was a week ago. It went from 1751 to just over 3K in a week. I was actually surprised they wanted me to do another beta because usually at 6 weeks you can see a heartbeat, but that was what they requested. I really hope there’s nothing to worry about, but obviously I’m now freaking out since I assumed everything was going well.

@piscesinsc:  Thank you…I am so sorry you are dealing with beta hell as well. I hope all goes well tomorrow. You are a little over 6 weeks right? Im sorry they waited all day to tell you. I am really wishing you the best of luck tomorrow.

@jen9999:  Thank you ladies. Trying to distract myself but knowing that I will most likely have to wait until wed for an ultrasound is hard. As long as my beta keeps going up sat I guess im still not out.

@piscesinsc:  I’m not sure either why they are worried about the betas at this stage. My understanding was it’s not a useful number after 6 weeks. Fingers crossed for the ultrasound ♥️

@jen9999:  Thanks, I’m not sure either. Even my acupuncturist is telling me that it may not be bad news. I see her tomorrow after the ultrasound so I let her know what was going on in case I wanted to cancel. She told me that they don’t necessarily think it’s bad news, but it’s hard not to immediately go to worst case scenario.

@candy08:  still hoping for a great outcome for you. If you’re still almost doubling then you’re not out. My beta was negative. I’ve been crying for two days. Starting to really get down and thinking this may not work for me. Lots of doom and gloom. I was telling my nurse that I want to transfer abnormal embryos next time, she then told me I need to start taking care of my mental health. Yikes. I think i’m losing it.

@piscesinsc:  really really hoping for a great outcome for you. I don’t know much about the doubling but what PPs say above sounds completely reasonable. This whole shit is a rollercoaster. Idk if you saw my message above to candy but I understand feeling down and negative since I am accustomed to only receiving bad news at this point. It is very disappointing. But even though I am not taking this advice myself, try not to lose hope since it’s all we have sometimes. You will be in my prayers.

@Cheekie0077:  Thank you. I’m so sorry about your beta results. This whole thing is just so unfair and it is exhausting to keep up with the highs and lows.
