@Mrs Sarah McK:  Great pics and thanks for starting the thread.  It’s had to believe August is here.

Everyone try to come back and post birth stories and pictures.  I love reading them and it will be extra special since I have been following everyone’s stories for so long!

    yaaay for another august thread!

baby boy is due aug 22nd exactly 3 weeks today πŸ™‚

i am so scared i’ll go overdue…i dont know if the parents’ due dates bear any relevance to the baby you make together, but my husband went almost 4 weeks overdue!!! thank GOD they dont allow that anymore. here in the UK you can go a total of 12 days overdue. which in my case would give us a September baby…hmm…

as much as i feel blessed and lucky to be pregnant (obviously) i am desperate for it be over as we’ve had so many scares and little complications, i just want him here now where i can see him and hold him and know he’s ok. selfishly though i still dont feel ready to give up my ‘single’ life (by single i mean, not a parent lol) if me Mr D and I had more money we’d be eating out every single night, cinema-ing every week and generally getting as much ‘single’ life in as possible ha ha!

but my god…..to have our little one finally with us…..what a miracle. I’m so excited and the august mamas who didnt make it to aug, and the early Fall mamas are making me jealous! 37 weeks today…and WE WILL NOT GO OVERDUE. positive affirmations ha ha!

    xx

I just got back from my 37 week appointment. I waited for a long time for it because of an in house emergency. By the time I got to the appointment itself, I noticed that my feet were swollen. Everything else looks good, but the swelling. I’m trying to ease it right now at work with elevation, coconut water, and water. So, I guess I’m skipping my night activity to bring down the swelling.

Only a few of us Team Greeners left!!

@Mrs Sarah McK:  Since we’re both due on the 10th – with 2 other ladies who are each having a boy and a girl – should we be thinking that one of us will have one and one of us will have the other haha?

@cascadecherub:  I’ve had swelling since 27 weeks, although it gets better at times it never completely goes away.  It’s nothing to worry about unless it is sudden and severe.  Here are some of the things that help: elevating your feet (as in lay on your back in bed with your feet straight up against the wall), soaking them in ice water, draining massage, compression tights, drinking lots of water.

@chastenet:  Thanks! This is the first time throughout my whole pregnancy that I got swelling. The doctor thought it’s because the uterus is pressing on some veins leading to the swelling. He made it sound like at the end, it just happens, no real avoiding it. The couch and I are best friends tonight with some ice packs and other remedies.

@Mrs Sarah McK:  Thanks for starting a new thread for us! I can’t wait to hear everyone’s stories and see the little ones!

Nothing too crazy going on over here. Still having pretty regular contractions but they aren’t progressing very much in intensity so I’m guessing this will be going on for a while. I’ve been trying to walk as much as I can and also trying to keep myself distracted but it’s not really working….

@bebefly:  Hope your day gets better πŸ™

Just wanted to comment on the new thread now, so it’s easier for me to find when we go home on Saturday.  I’ll update with our story and pics then.  In the meantime, I’ll be thinking of you ladies!  πŸ™‚
