@MissPurplePurl:  It never even crossed my mind to have an indoor wedding! Both MrMojito and I are big outdoor enthusiasts, I used to be a professional gardener, and it is so pretty in the northwest in August that outdoors was a given for us. It is important to me to have a venue with an indoor option though, or at least very very good tenting, because the weather here can be unpredictable, and I’m a worrier!

We don’t have a venue booked yet (i want to see what they look like in the summer before I make a decision), but my front runner is a small farm. There is a meadow, gardens, a large tented patio, and a beautifully rennovated barn. Hopefully we would have the ceremony on the grass, and dinner and dancing on the patio. But the barn is there just in case it’s pouring and we have to move the whole thing inside!

Hello!! I am having my wedding all outdoors. I am actually one of those brides that found the venue before getting engaged. We are getting married in Temcula, Ca (wine country) at a small place called Lake Oak Meadows. The ceremony site overlooks a manmade lake and the reception is at the same location just behind the lake. I am so excited I can hardly wait! I am going to be doing a vintage/rustic/elegance theme. If that makes sense? I want mason jars with candles hanging from branches and old props. My colors are pinks and burlap. I think I am most excited about wedding dress shopping. I just went Saturday for the first time and found some nice dresses but I dont think they were “the one”. I will be going to another salon this coming up weekend.

Im excited to get this board moving!

@MissPurplePurl:  I’m sort of by the water! On a hill overlooking Lake Winnisquam in New Hampshire, with the mountains in the background 🙂 And my lovely venue just bought a tent that they will put up free of charge the day of if the weather isn’t looking too good! So I am covered! Reception is inside, but the walls are almost full window overlooking the same view! Soooo excited!!!!!!!

@MissPurplePurl:  I am an August 2013 bee, so hopefully it’s ok to post here!

I always wanted an outdoor wedding…it’s just what I envisioned for our wedding day. What drew me to our space is the personal connection. It’s where I graduated from high school (a boarding/day school) and the school literally changed the course of my life (got me into the college I attended, my best mentors were there etc).

I also love the aesthetics and natural beauty of the location. It’s southwestern and very simple, yet beautiful. I am most worried about it potentially raining. Summers in Colorado can be very unpredictable. It can be very dry or very wet (all in the same day). I am also a little bit concerned about the heat, but we are doing a 5:30pm ceremony and hoping that it will cool down a little by then.

And….some obligatory pics of our space!

Mine reception is outdoors, and the ceremony indoors (at a church)! The reception site is a five minute drive from the church and is an acreage with a huge colonial style house. (the kind with a white wrap around veranda. The house is actually a bed and breakfast. They have a tent set up in the garden for the summer and that’s where our reception will be. Guests can walk around outside and enjoy the gardens, or sit under the tent. I am decorating with burlap, succulents and lots of lights! My colors are coral and yellow, but there is quite a bit of greens and whites incorporated as well. So excited! My only worry is the weather. August is usually warm where I am from but it’s not the heat that I’m worried about, I’m ok with that, just no rain please!, hopefully we don’t get one of those random rainy days! And if we do, at least there is a tent over our heads, and we can bring in some heaters.

I’m getting married on the Milwaukee river. There ceremony will be down by the water and the reception will be up a hill at a private restaurant kind of thing. We’re having a late morning ceremony followed by brunch. Instead of dancing we’re going to have lawn and tables games for guests to play. the venue has a tent up all summer next to the lodge as a rain plan, and if it doesn’t rain we can set the games up under the tent in the shade.

I’m planning on making my own certerpieces and just made a trial one

Yay for the August Brides… I’m getting married in 53 days (8/3/2013) and I’m so excited. We will exchange nuptials is sunny Southern California (San Clemente, CA — South Orange County to be exact). Our venue, Casa Romantica Cultural Center,  is on a bluff with Panoramic Views of the Pacific Ocean. It is so amazingly beautiful with the spanish villa feel to it…

(this picture doesn’t do it much justice) …but a quick Google search and you will see what I mean…

I’m having an outdoor ceremony under willow trees = my childhood dream 🙂 I wasn’t able to visit because I’m abroad, but my mom was blown away. I have only one pic…
