lauralei101 : Did you wind up buying? Sorry I didn’t reply, I left on vacation. When I look at the stone by itself, the fuzziness is not readily apparent. However, because it’s not set yet and I don’t carry it around with me, I haven’t really had a chance to examine it under a variety of lighting conditions.
It definitely looks “warmer”- even at the same color grade – than my diamond because of the fuzziness. But that’s really not a problem for me. I love warm diamonds.
If you are asking because you want to pass it off as a diamond, I think it’s definitely passable. If a friend of mine was wearing my moissanite on an ering, I would never guess it wasn’t a diamond, unless I held my own ring next to it.
My setting is by Steven Kirsch. But I also love (and eventually want a ring by ) CVB, and Jonathon now partners with her for a slight price reduction on her settings through him. She sets TONS of OEC moissy and diamonds.

I didn’t buy yet.. I’m still on the fence. I don’t want to pass it off as a diamond.. I’d wear it as a moissanite and be proud of that.. it’s more that I’ve heard and read concerns about the flatness or glassiness or cloudiness of moissanites in various types of lighting and I know it would bother me.. the color being lower wouldn’t bother me.. I bought a cheap India moissanite and set it myself and for the price (way under $100), I’m happy with its looks and trade it out for my original diamond set on occasion when I want to change it up.. but the India moissanite does go flat in certain lighting, which I wouldn’t be happy with at the higher price point of an AVR moissanite. Ideally I want a 2.5 ct AV Round diamond but I’m about five or so years away from financially being ready for that.. but a 2.5ct AVR moissanite is do-able now.. and I’m impatient. And am so in love with antique cuts.. my original set is a .78 E OEC diamond with a sapphire halo and I just love that old charm and chunky facets.. I just want something larger!

lauralei101 : yea I heard they are hard to come by. For the size I’m looking for and facet pattern I’m keen on,I’m thinking I’ll just end up going actual antique. Although the AVC moissies are pretty, Please post pics if you end up getting one anyways. Good luck! 🙂
