@kathrynm75:  Thanks! I just love the photo you took of the dress hanging! The lighting is so good and it looks GORGEOUS! I’ve definitely taken some photos in bad lighting which made me question the material but your pic reminded me of how beautiful the lace and sparkle is!

@kathrynm75:  Mine looks pointy too- hoping that it softens out when I actually get it. This is it with the clips on (doesn’t arrive in until August and I will prob start alterations around Nov… wedding is in April).

My dress finally arrived!!! No alterations yet this was just my first try-on!!

I can honestly say I’m soooooooo IN LOVE with the dress!!!! I  found a James Clifford belt that the bridal shop had and bought it because it WAS PERFECT!!!!

I’m so happy!!! Let the alterations begin! I need some of the waist taken in, the corset was tied up and it was still loose on me (I ordered a 10 because of my plentiful hips but my upper body is smaller)… apart from that it’s just hemming, possibly making the back more of a V, maaayyybe round out the cups… they didn’t look too bad but I know what people are saying with the pointyness due to the corset…

Have I mentioned how excited I am?? 🙂 I ordered my veil last week as well so I can’t wait to see the completed look!

@AlicialovesJose:  Simply Stunning! Did you order a US size 10, thats like a UK size 14  but looks so much smaller :-). Perfect, i do like the sparkly belt, how is the belt done up at the back? Also what designer is your veil? Love it!! xxx

@Joynson:  Thank you!! I don’t know how Augusta Jones sizes… maybe she uses UK sizes because I’m currently a US size 4 but they measured me and I lined up to Augusta Jones size 10!

The belt hooks in the back, It was an XL so it was way too big on me so it was just tied back on itself to keep it on… I ordered the belt  in a small and then the alterations person will adjust the hooks on it to make it fit just right.

The veil is unlike any other! You know how normally veils max out at a 108 width? well this was a 300 width x 108 length tulle veil. I loved the fullness on top.. but I reaaalllyy like the lace trim. The veil I ordered is from etsy: https://www.etsy.com/transaction/133391460

I looked online and can’t even find any designer that makes the 300 width veil… I don’t know who that was by.

And yes I’m definitely going to keep it as much of an Aline as I can… those hips don’t need any more definition! I was actually hoping that it could be taken out more but there’s just nothing to work with in the seams, and if there is it’s so minute it’s not worth the money & hassle in altertions.

Now all I have left is to find shoes since I discovered my shoes squeak when I walk (I will not be a squeaky bride! haha) and I need my alterations person to come up with some sort of lace sleeve to wear for the ceremony. I bought some lace from etsy that I hope will match.

@AlicialovesJose:  Love it, glad you found a belt too :-). Im second guessing getting my sparkly belt now and possibly opting just for the juno sash as my mum thinks that the sparkly ones are just a fad at the moment and will look dated in a few years when blingy bridal sashes go out of fashion and she thinks in cuts me in half where as the juno sash blends in 🙁 confused.com. So glad the dress fits you so well, i only wear an equivalent to a us 4 down bottom and a us 6 up top so had to order the 12 so will have to have alot of alterations. I checked and she does order in us sizes and uk sizes. Is the veil you ordered the one in the picture it looks lovely! xxx Squeeky shoes wont be a good look lol, happy shoe hunting!!! xxx

@AlicialovesJose:  WOW you look AMAZING!!! If I were you, I’d save the money and trouble of altering the bust…it already looks soooo flattering on you and NOT pointy!! I think mine was just not the right size for my bust.  Trust me, I almost ruined my dress by trying to alter it so much so if you are happy with it now, I would keep the alterations to a minimum! I see that it’s loose on your waist but otherwise it’s perfect!! Love the belt too!! I’m actually jealous of how great you look in the dress!!!!

@AlicialovesJose:  I wanted to add that I am So happy that you are in love with your dress. I know that you second guessed it, as I did, at one point, but trust me, we made the RIGHT decision on this dress!! No matter what the shape (mermaid or not), the bottom line is that the LACE and that rich satin lining underneath is beyond perfect.  Sometimes i wish I had left it as is since you and the other ladies make it look so good in the orignal shape!!
