Does anyone still use the term “Aunt Flo” lol
I was counting out days to my wedding and realized I’ll start my period on the Wednesday before our Saturday wedding.
I’m on the pill, and have been for a number of years but can’t remember a time that I continuously took my pill ( no placebo pill week) to skip a period .
Has anyone done this to skip a period? Will I have spotting , will my period be back to normal when I get back on track ?

Honestly it depends on the person. When I was on the pill I did this pretty regularly. I never had issues with spotting. And the next month when I went back to placebo pills everything was b ack to normal.
Just wear a panty liner just in case

I used to do this regularly to avoid vacations etc. No spotting and right back to normal. I agree with the panty liner advice just in case but you should be fine.

I’ve only done it once, to avoid my period while on our minimoon. It worked perfectly and things were back to normal next month.
It seems like the term now is TOM. Although I don’t see why we need cutsey messages.

I use to do it every second period or so and never had issues spotting. It depends on the person and it might depend on the pill.
As a side, the abbreviation AF is very commonly used here and it stands for “Aunt Flo” so it’s definitely used here!

I skip the placebo pills maybe 2-3 times a year. I’ve never had issues with spotting or breakthrough bleeding.

My gynecologist recommended skipping the placebo week to delay my period for my honeymoon. It worked great, with no spotting.

Definitely take bc. I did it for my wedding and I do it for vacations. No spotting, no irregularity, but that’s me. Try the nova ring so you don’t actually have to remember to take a pill.

I take 3 nuvaring back to back and have my period in week 10 (3 X 3 weeks on, 1 week off). It was recommended to me by my gynaecologist, but they did say not to run any more than 3 together. For a one-off you should be fine. I haven’t had any spotting when I should have been on

jazzybee83 : because of the severity of my periods my gyno actually advised me not to use the placebo. It’s only to make women “feel better” that it exists anyway. I’d just take it back to back. No spotting.

Talk to your doctor about norethisterone. Mine prescribed it when I wanted to delay my period for a trip.
Unfortunately, it didn’t fully stop my bleeding. I had slight spotting but it did delay cramping and majority of bleeding until I stopped taking it. It may have fully stopped it if I continued the full prescription. However, I mainly just wanted it to keep it from starting during the full 24 hr flight lol (was already going to be an uncomfortable flight haha, didn’t need my period adding to it).
So maybe get the prescription and start it a few days before. I was supposed to take it day before it started but my period came early so I started it after it had already begun which may also be why I had spotting still.
