I just posted about this! I started my period the morning of my wedding. I really did not care, my mind was not thinking of it at all surprisingly! Being more emotional helped ease any jitters too, I was feeling a bit more romantic bc I was hormonal, lol.

My husband didnt mind either, we still had sex, and had sex the entire week of our honeymoon. It was just as amazing. We had to get creative and we had to have fun as best we could!

I continued to take my BC pills without stopping so that I skipped my period for our honeymoon. If you take HBC, you could do that! 🙂

Good one! I am thinking about that too..since i have an underskin implant i became completely irregular sooooo yes, there’s a possibility! No, not happy about it (awkward to change a tampax with your wedding dress on, right??), but at least i don’t feel as bad as you..

I started the night before my wedding (a week early) it was like the universe wanted to play games with me! It wasn’t bad though. I usually have pretty bad cramps and pain but after a morning pamprin I was fine on the day. I think I was just so happy I didn’t think about it.

I am scheduled to get my stupid friend too that week.. but that is NOT happening! I am going to continue taking my pill, so I just skip it that month. I’ve done this a few times before, and it doesn’t hurt anything or affect me the following month. I highly recommend it! That is the last thing I want to deal with on my wedding day/plane ride/honeymoon.

well i am not heavy so i changed my girly stuff right before i headed out the door and didnt have to change it until i got back (which stayed out since we consumated). And to be honest I used the restroom once (otherwise i didnt think about it) during the reception and I don’t remember how awkward it was or whatever. The day really is an exciting blur!!

As for the birth control, i got off mine when we got engaged due to our abstinence and we wanted to start trying for baby #2 as soon as we were married, so that was not an option for me, but if you have the option to alter your AF, then do it!!

I’ll add this just because it might happen….. Mine was due but it didn’t come until a few days later and I think it was due to stress!

I’m probably going to be in full-blown PMS either during or shortly after my wedding (i.e. the week of the honeymoon).  I get very emotional/down and want lots of cuddling but I don’t feel sexual at all.  Ugh!  I’ve been thinking about going on the Pill, but I’ve never been on it before and I’m very afraid of it reducing my sex drive, etc.

OP, have you ever tried things like Midol?  They can really help with bloating.  Or even just a plain weight-loss pill/diuretic might help.

I must have a really social period, because that red lady shows up at every social event – my bachelorette party, my wedding, my birthday, my bridal shower – you name it that b*tch is there.

Oddly enough, like one of the PPs mentioned, mine started the day before my wedding, stopped the day of, and then started again the day after. I’m chalking it up to stress, but sometimes that can have the pleasant side effect of making her go away. Wait, that sounded bad. No, I don’t want you to be crazy stressed out!

Also, Midol is awesome. I start taking it a few days before my period because it does have a mild diuretic in it that alleviates some of the bloating and water retention.

I made a mistake with my BCP and had AF start the day before my wedding.  The only thing that sucked was changing the tampons with my dress on.  Luckily, I didn’t get any cramping that day and it didn’t get super heavy ’til the day after.  I’m not into having sex when I have my full blown period, so Darling Husband and I didn’t do the naughty the night of.

I’d suggest to just keep going with your pills.  Talk to your doc and explain the situation, see what they might suggest!

I blame stupid leap year as well… when we set the date we intentionally set the date for after the week Aunt Flow comes to town, but this month becuase of leap year well lets just say she in town.  So if the dates match up for the next couple of months then yes she will be visiting then too.

i am hoping that over the next two months she will visit on time!
