Oh, Gown cost $250 new from a private seller and $300 for alterations, $80 for the nearly perfectly matching veil.

Ring was $599 and I got a wedding band custom made to fit it for around the same price

2ct oval splitshank with .4 down the sides

Although our wedding won’t be for a while.. I’m pretty set on the following dress.. And if not this one.. Something so similar you wouldn’t know haha =]

It’s from Bridal Vision Wetherill park(worst customer service mind you!!!) And the price is somewhere around the $3000 mark but i honestly can’t remember! I’m considering getting it made at cabbramatta (Sydney) i know some pretty good dress makers that i could get it done for less than half!!

My wedding dress is a Wendy Sullivan cost $2500.  It’s way too big for me.  See pic.  Sorry I don’t know how to rotate it.  My ring is .75 GIA certified triple ex in f colour total weight 1ct.  I have 2 wedding baminitower match going either side of the ring.  All designed by my Fiance. Not sure how much but around $10k for engagement ring.

@VIPVICKY:  That dress is super pretty but what is with the pearls on her back? Is that part of the dress and I am blind? Or are they just like, glued on her? I have looked into buying dresses from China but it makes me and SO sooo nervous :/ What if it comes back like 14 sizes too big!? Or it is red??? or something unspeakable! Brave girls on the bee!

@taylorkirby:  Those pearls not come with the dress dear ๐Ÿ˜› They look like the decoration put by the sellers, as you said ‘glued on her‘ >.<

It is a very good idear to buy the bridal dress from China! Smart girl! Don’t worry about the size, just make sure you have the three measurements of your body and compare the size table or sth like that provided by sellers. Actually the dress I bought above is too big, so I found a dress maker to tailor it more fit for my size and plus this cost the total price is still MUCH lower than buying one in Australia. By The Way, the quality for this one is excellent and compared with other dresses (bought in Aus) in the dress maker’s workplace, it is much much better than anyone of them. Of course we cannot compare it with those from big brand, but the price and quality and design – very competitive!!

There should be some pics and quantities of sale show with the product if you wanna buy it obnline. So don’t worry about you’ll get a different colour, but maybe a bit different between pic and the good you got like pure white or cream white. If you don’t mind exact coulor too much, and it will not be the difference of red and white ๐Ÿ˜› Just the size needs to be chosed carefully as I suggested above.

I don’t know which Chinese website or some shops you plan to buy your dress. If you need any help about evaluating or suggestion or sth like that, welcome send me email by [email protected] ๐Ÿ™‚

Just wanted to bump this! I know there are a few more Aussies and I’d love to see where you got your dresses from! I’ll post mine tomorrow.  Particularly keen to hear what your dress shopping experience was like? I know Melbourne is known as a wedding dress Mecca but I actually found it really hard to figure out which boutiques to visit – because for most I had to book first so it wasn’t like we could window shop Sydney Road or High St and go into those we liked the look of.  I found my dress before I joined the Hive but I find it fascinating that the US seems to have big chains like David’s bridal etc. I would have found that quite useful as a starting point!  I get the feeling current trends here are for simpler dresses than in the US so I’d be interested to see if I’m right or wrong about that ๐Ÿ™‚ oh, and is it just me that they’re more expensive here, simpler or not?! the average price at the places I went was $2-3000!
