Hi.  There’s a post higher up on the board than yours, today, I think from an Aussie girl all about the Maggie Catarina.  I was a two-dress bride, and I swear, if I’d seen this dress… it would’ve been my third and I would’ve worn it! Gorgeous.  prob worth the flight for you! check out the other post though with gorgeous pix.

@Shari_Angel: Hey! Im an Aussie QLD bride too in the same position as you. Have tried tracking down the catarina everywhere to try on but no luck! I have tried on a few similar ones (like the harlow, vienna, tamara) and they all looked fantastic so Im sure it will be fine, but it is always risky spending so much on the dress and not knowing if you’re going to like it. I cant afford the real deal (as you’re right its $3600 for the dress plus prob another $4000 for alterations) so Im getting mine custom made in China. My mum lives over there so she has found a factory who will make it for me. It wont be the exact same lace but it will be very similar and hopefully will still be beautiful. Good luck with it, Im sure it will be smashing on you, its such a unique dress.

@shari angel – yes the strap to me looks great (my dress is ivory over oyster).

@Shari_Angel: I should have my dress in about a month so I can let you know how it turns out and it might be an option for you πŸ™‚

i actually like the dress without the strap. It shortens you a little bit. One of the ladies at the bridal shop advised me when i was trying a dress on. I’m 158cms

If your having the strap i would definately have your hair in a high updo to create length.

Now looking at it with the veil I think it looks nicer without the strap but nicer with the strap without the veil.

Maybe putting the strap on at the receipton by Shari Angel is a good idea!

I also like it more without the strap.  But it is gorgeous either way!
