HI, I know this is a really old thread but was just wondering if there are any lovely Aussie ladies lurking around these parts still? ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m in Adelaide, so not too far away! How is your wedding planning going? Got a venue locked in?

@Lollybags:  @Lfly:  @Holly77:

YAY! More Melbournites!

We’ve got venue booked, DJ sorted, celebrant nearly locked in, and am currently contemplating photographers.

How about you guys? I see two fellow 2014 brides! ๐Ÿ˜€

@Lfly:  we were planning on renewing our vows so I came here for ideas.

We then decided not to go ahead. I really enjoy hearing about other people planning their special day so I’ve just stuck around.

@Holly77:  I enjoy reading the boards too, I think I’m addicted. I’ll probably stick around after I’m married!

 @xoCATox:  I’m pretty organised, mainly as a result of a lot of friendors! Celebrant booked, my FI’s aunt. Main photographers will be my Future Father-In-Law and Future Sister-In-Law, they have a photog business. Cake will be provided by my mum’s best friend who makes pro cakes and she’ll only accept the cost of the ingredients (we’ll get her a lovely gift though!)

Venue booked, it comes with MC, DJ and photog to do casual shots, which wil be nice, so Future Father-In-Law and Future Sister-In-Law can have a break for the reception.

I’m designing my FI’s wedding ring, and my wedding ring is on layby (you can see pics on my thread I created when I was deciding on it)

I have make up artist trials organised, for next month. I figure I’ll need to book in quick once I know if they’re good. One is a family friend, the other is someone who’s work I’ve admired; the before and after photos of her brides are stunning! So this decision will be difficult.

I bought my shoes which I’d loved for months, preloved from the UK, saved $130 (cost $150 inc shipping, $280 brand new from Sydney).

I’m stuck on what to do about my dress though.. my mum is a dress maker, so she’s happy to do it, but beaded bridal lace is so expensive that it might be cheaper and easier buying a preloved or sample gown or getting one made by Jasmine’s. I want to go dress shopping so I can see what looks good on me. I’m thinking of a light pink or lilac gown though, with silver or gold beading, so it just depends on what’s available, I might buy a reasonably priced preloved dress then dye it to the colour I want, and see if my mum is up for beading it.
