Hyde Park, Che Zee, Opal Divines (I love this place, so I might be biased :)… and I don’t think the downtown location has a private room now that I think about it ), Austin Java, Iron Cactus (might be hard to get to, since it’s on 6th), Z Tejas

Since your rehersal will be on the 1st… I would think most restauraunts won’t be crowded.  Another thing to consider is if they’ll be open.

There are tons of great tex mex places on s. first and congress, but I’m assuming those would be too far south for you.  Check out the Chronicle’s restaurant section for more ideas. 🙂

Yay!!  I love Chez Zee- although I’ve only eaten there for lunch, their food is awesome.  It will make for some really great pictures too!

i’ve been having the same problem! My first choice was Eastside Cafe, but their private room was too small for us (they have a maximum of 32). I also love Hoover’s, but we ran into the same size issue there. It may not be a problem for you.

We’ve ended up at Corazon at Castle Hill. They have a private room upstairs, are downtown-ish (Lamar & 5th) and don’t have a minimum or room rental fee.

Have you thought about the Belmont? I love it!

They have private rooms and I don’t remember which package option but there is one for $15 a person.
