The Driskill on 6th street is beautiful. Definitely worth checking out.

The Allan House would be a good option http://allanhouse.com/

We had our wedding at Barr Mansion. The venue isn’t downtown but we had our block of hotel rooms at a downtown hotel and had a shuttle transport guests to and from the venue so our Out of Town guests could enjoy downtown Austin. I can’t say enough good things about Barr Mansion. I was also planning from out of state (NY) and Barr Mansion was so easy to work with. They also have that rustic charm you’re looking for. You should definitely schedule a tour – http://barrmansion.com/

@orangeroses29:

Indoor/Outdoor + Rustic Charm + Close to Downtown = Wild Onion Ranch! It’s gorgeous and not your typical cliche wedding venue. I visited countless Austin area venues and couldn’t seem to find anything that “fit”. The Wild Onion blew me away.

We are getting married at Camp Lucy, which is about 30 minutes away from downtown. It is magical!
