Hello! I’m hopeing my fellow Aussie brides can help me out. I am working on our budget, I would love to know how much you spent on hair and make up, if you had more then one trial and how happy you were with the results. Also, I would love to get some feed back on things I may have forgotten to put into the beauty catigory. For example I have: Spray Tan, Nails ect. Were there things you recomnd to consider budgeting for?
(Also, if the spelling is terible I am sorry. My keyboard is playing up)

- Wedding: May 2015 - St Peter\'s Church, East Maitland, and Bella Vista, Newcastle
From memory, hair and makeup cost me about $600 for me, two bridesmaids and my mum – about $150 a person. This was in Newcastle – so possibly cheaper than it would have been in Sydney or Melbourne. I had one trial and was very happy with the results; the trial was an extra $100, as far as I remember.
Things in the beauty budget – for me it was literally just hair and makeup. A spray tan is not me and neither is getting my nails done! Something I see people doing sometimes is tooth whitening which you may want to put in your budget for beauty? Or regular facials leading up to the wedding? Depends how far you want to go, I guess!

I’m getting married in Melbourne this December. My makeup artist charges $100 per person ($70 for my 13 year old junior bridesmaid) and my hair stylist charges $120 for the bride and $100 for everyone else. I’ve had my makeup trial already (it cost me $80) and was very happy with how it all looked. I’m having my hair trial next week (she’s doing it for free as I’ve got so many people getting their hair done with her, but she usually charges $80) but I’ve had my hair done with her before so I’m not worried about it.
Besides hair and makeup, the only other thing I’m budgeting for in the beauty category is my nails. I’ll just go to my usual salon, which charges $60 for a mani/pedi.

I’m getting married between Brisbane and Toowoomba. My make up artist is anout $100 per person plus some travel fees so I think she’ll work out to be $600 ish? I’m not doing a trial as she’s done my makeup before in the past and I know what works on me so there’s no need. Hair is about $95 a person I think? Can’t remember! Not doing a trial for that either.

I’m getting married this January, and hair and make up quotes have come in between $120-190pp… I found that it varied HEAPS from place to place and this was one thing I really struggled with choosing…

I’m in Sydney and my hair is $120, bridesmaids hair is $100, makeup for me $100, makeup for bridesmaids $90.
I had one trial and very happy with results

I live in country NSW! I’m paying $400 for hair and makeup on location, including a trial. What a bargain! I don’t have a bridal party so I’m paying a premium. If I had bridesmaids their makeup would be $90 each.

I’m in Melbourne and my MUA is quite expensive, but I have done lots of photoshoots etc with her in the past so really wanted her for my wedding. She charges $150 for hair OR makeup, so it’s $300 for both. I think she is doing a slightly cheaper rate for me but it’s still going to be about $260pp. Plus $ for 2 hours travel. I know she will do an amazing job and she is so lovely and passionate 🙂 I’ve had some terrible hair and makeup done as a bridesmaid before so I figure it’s better to spend $300 for excellent work than $150 for crappy work that makes me feel ugly! I’m paying for myself + 4 bridesmaids hair and makeup so it’s going to add up.
